This Is God!
Within each of us there is an internal drive to discover God and to worship Him. When even the atheist declares “There is no God” this is a statement proving that the idea of God is already held within their own minds. If this were not so there would be no need for a declaration. However, there is great confusion in our world about the concepts of God, divinity, deity and appellations like angels and other superhuman personalities that may, at times, be experienced by someone. This paper will describe in our terms, and for our time on our world, who God is, what He does for us, when, where and how He works. Of highest importance is to know WHY He is as such. And this answer is simple. God Loves You! So – let us dive right in and discover God for ourselves with an initial understanding that preconceived notions are best set aside with a clean slate in our minds for new and better understandings to emerge.
God is love.
God’s divine character and nature can best be understood by comprehending the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of God and the son of man, meaning Jesus is and was both human and divine [God]. Jesus is the material and physical expression of God Himself, as a Master Creator Son. This makes it paramount that one embraces what is actually true regarding Jesus’ saying-s and doing-s. If you desire to know what our Master actually said and did you will find this expansive information in Part 4 of The Urantia Book which dictates what He said by way of the apostle Andrew’s Midwayer [an invisible citizen of our planet who works for the good of mankind].
God is infinite and the Supreme Soul.
He is the source and destiny of our souls. God is the Primal Mind and the Unlimited Spirit of all creation. Here is a short list of some of His attributes:

* self-existent
* divine
* bountiful
* pure
* beautiful

* deep and unfathomable
* excellent: He imparts Himself to us
* He IS the beginning and the end
* Father of every good and perfect purpose
* God knows Himself fully
* He meets every real need
* God sees the end from the beginning
* knows all things – past, present and future
* He is the great and only I AM
* infinite in attributes
* He is GOOD
* 100% spirit vs. we who are 99.99% material, this means we must seek to discover Him within
* author and bestower of free will choice
* God becomes man as occurred with His Son, our Jesus
* He places a fragment of Himself within the minds of His lowly creatures – us
* In this way He becomes as close as one can ever be with us. God is our friend!
Who is God?
God is love personified.
Our Father wants only good to come to you. When hard times arrive in our lives it is God, and His workers, who provides your loving help. He is never the source of error, evil or harm. He is no respecter of persons [does not show favoritism]. All of us are ‘chosen people’ in that He has chosen to place a fragment of Himself within each of us. These God fragments are called Thought Adjusters. They indwell all humans with the ability to make a moral choice.
2:5.1 “God is love”; therefore his only personal attitude towards the affairs of the universe is always a reaction of divine affection. The Father loves us sufficiently to bestow his life upon us. “He makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.”
God is spiritual love.
Although He is vast, unfathomable to our mortal minds in His expanse and abilities, He is astonishingly and tenderly caring as He intimately places His own spirit-fragment to indwell us in order to have a personal and close friendship [True Religion as Jesus taught]. He longs for this loving relationship with His children. He can give us His love and receive our love in return. In this, we can experience His presence in our lives and this brings God, and us, joy. Have you ever wondered how God sees things? We ask in prayer for many things from God’s hand and He listens. But – have you ever thought to ask God how HIS day is going?, is He busy? It is sort of funny to think about, but if you never asked how your friend’s day has been, never showed any interest in them – how would they feel? Well, God is a PERSON! Ask Him sometime. Show some interest in Him and ask Him what He wants – today.
4:4.6 In God the Father freewill performances are not ruled by power, nor are they guided by intellect alone; the divine personality is defined as consisting in spirit and manifesting himself to the universes as love. Therefore, in all his personal relations with the creature personalities of the universes [US], the First Source and Center is always and consistently a loving Father. God is a Father in the highest sense of the term. He is eternally motivated by the perfect idealism of divine love, and that tender nature finds its strongest expression and greatest satisfaction in loving and being loved.
Father’s presence within my mind and heart is so personal, so deeply moving in kindness, grace and patience – I find myself healed, lifted up within, encouraged and understood in ways almost too deep for words. However, my heart for service to Him compels me to try and describe who He is, not only to me personally, but His potential for these same things within ALL of His children. God is love. Yes! ~ Marin
God is good.
In the past, many have described God as they saw fit for various reasons. Personal and national motivations of humans have often determined what our records have historically said about God. Hence, our great confusion. But if we want to personally discover the goodness of God for ourselves we will find Him in His spiritual realm through our own private pursuits in authentic worship by way of ‘attainment’ stillness practice. It is in this quiet reflection and spiritual intake of Him that we begin to see who He is and how deeply He loves, cares and nurtures us as His child.
5:4.6 The Hebrews based their religion on goodness; the Greeks on beauty; both religions sought truth. Jesus revealed a God of love, and love is all-embracing of truth, beauty, and goodness.

5:4.7 The Zoroastrians had a religion of morals; the Hindus a religion of metaphysics; the Confucianists a religion of ethics. Jesus lived a religion of service. All these religions are of value in that they are valid approaches to the religion of Jesus. Religion [friendship with God] is destined to become the reality of the spiritual unification [coherence] of all that is good, beautiful, and true in human experience.

God’s goodness is far-seeing. Looking back I see my enormous struggles and hardships as I wondered how I would survive. He knew what was being forged within me in those dark times. His goal for us is to be good, strong in love, forgiveness and compassion. With our will, His will can be done for our good. Do you see? Nothing can keep you from His goodness save our own selfish will in opposition to His will. Let go and let God. Yes.

God is coherent beauty.
Example: My dad kept a magnetic desk toy in his office. It was comprised of many small pieces of metal that would stick to a magnetic base. I played with this thing many times. I enjoyed pulling the little pieces up and watching them fall in perfect magnetic attraction. These would immediately stick to the base no matter what I did. As a child I wondered how this could be! With fascination I experienced this cohesion, this sticking together by some invisible force of power. This is an example of what it means to ‘cohere’ to something where two different things became one unit. Time and time again, unfailingly, they would cling and cleave together. ~ Marin

2:7.7 The eternal quest is for unification, for divine coherence. The far-flung physical universe coheres in the Isle of Paradise; the intellectual universe coheres in the God of mind, the Conjoint Actor [3rd person of the Trinity]; the spiritual universe is coherent in the personality of the Eternal Son [2nd person of the Trinity]. But the isolated mortal of time and space coheres [becomes unified as one] in God the Father through the direct relationship between the indwelling Thought Adjuster and the Universal Father [God]. Man’s Adjuster is a fragment of God and everlastingly seeks for divine unification; it coheres with, and in, the Paradise Deity of the First Source and Center. [The terms ‘mankind, man and sons’ all include women and girls. Females are also ‘sons of God’.]

2:7.8 The discernment of supreme beauty is the discovery and integration of reality [God IS reality]: The discernment of the divine goodness in the eternal truth, that is ultimate beauty [the interplay between God with His child and His creations].

God is incapable of ugly error, evil or sin.
111:1.6 Mind is the cosmic instrument on which the human will can play the discords of destruction, or upon which this same human will can bring forth the exquisite melodies of God identification [cohesion] and consequent eternal survival. The Adjuster bestowed upon man is, in the last analysis, impervious to evil and incapable of sin, but mortal mind can actually be twisted, distorted, and rendered evil and ugly by the sinful machinations of a perverse and self-seeking human will. Likewise can this mind be made noble, beautiful, true, and good — actually great — in accordance with the spirit-illuminated will of a God-knowing human being.
God will never produce harm, violence, hate or malice. This is an impossibility! If things like these are present it will be the love of God who heals and the law of God that destroys these man-made and erroneous, evil, unloving things of hate.
188:5.2 The cross forever shows that the attitude of Jesus toward sinners was neither condemnation nor condonation, but rather eternal and loving salvation. Jesus is truly a savior in the sense that his life and death do win men over to goodness and righteous survival. Jesus [who is God] loves men so much that his love awakens the response of love in the human heart. Love is truly contagious and eternally creative. Jesus' death on the cross exemplifies a love which is sufficiently strong and divine to forgive sin and swallow up all evil-doing. Jesus disclosed to this world a higher quality of righteousness than justice — mere technical right and wrong. Divine love does not merely forgive wrongs; it absorbs and actually destroys them. The forgiveness of love utterly transcends the forgiveness of mercy. Mercy sets the guilt of evil-doing to one side; but love destroys forever the sin and all weakness resulting therefrom. Jesus brought a new method of living to Urantia. He taught us not to resist evil but to find through him a goodness which effectually destroys evil. The forgiveness of Jesus is not condonation; it is salvation from condemnation. Salvation does not slight wrongs; it makes them right. True love does not compromise nor condone hate; it destroys it. The love of Jesus is never satisfied with mere forgiveness. The Master's love implies rehabilitation, eternal survival. It is altogether proper to speak of salvation as redemption if you mean this eternal rehabilitation. [No blood shed is necessary – the atonement doctrine of Paul in the New Testament was Paul’s own fabrication. God does not work like this]. Paul taught error intimating that Jesus said the same things. He did not!

God is truth.
Fear has always been a powerful human motivator in terms of controlling people.
Example: The Greeks invented the concept of Hades/Hell for their reasons pursuant to control and a shaming tool for those they thought had weak souls. This concept has taken root and is found in many world religions. This is not ‘truth’!
This fallacy of the character of God as one needing to execute eternal punishment, torture and suffering is a good example of how great confusion on our world regarding the nature of God has continued up until today. This will be corrected! God is incapable of this cruel and ugly enactment upon the children that He cherishes. The truth is that God loves us and wants us to love our fellows. And in this way we become more and more like Him. When man tries to control other men, the first tool in their toolbox is often fear [shame]; and with this fear, money can come pouring in from those who want to use this supposed ‘wrath of God’ to produce their ends by fear. Here is the GOOD NEWS! God is not angry! God does not punish His children! There is no Hell! If there is error, evil and sin in our world it is due to man’s free will choice and propensity for selfishness, greed and control. These are not the things of God. God is truth!
5:4.2 The great and immediate service of true religion [friendship with God] is the establishment of an enduring unity in human experience [cohesion with God], a lasting peace and a profound assurance. With primitive man, even polytheism is a relative unification of the evolving concept of Deity; polytheism [many gods] is monotheism [one true God] in the making. Sooner or later, God is destined to be comprehended as the reality of values, the substance of meanings, and the life of truth [God is all things ‘good’].
In a material world where confusion and chaos are rampant we must focus on God’s spiritual realm in order to grow spiritually. His truth will hit the bullseye in His target of our hearts. He is an expert in this and we should trust Him as He seeks to show us His truth, and this grounds us in an ever-shifting world filled with whizzing voices and off-target theories. God is stabilizing. God is truth. ~ Marin
God is kind.
Our Father hopes for our successes, and as the giver of our free will He is not surprised that we make mistakes [error], choose that which we know is not good [evil]. The very point of His giving us life means that we will need to learn from our mistakes by experiential progression. Our good God does not punish His erring children for making mistakes as we go about using the very free will that He gave to us anymore than a good human parent does not torture their child for breaking a rule.
Example: A 12 year old daughter steals a purse at school and is caught. The good mother recognizes that something is wrong with this child’s understanding of what is right or wrong. The daughter’s experience of having to face the parents of the victim, the victim and her friends, the principal and teachers of her school is demonstrably painful for the thief. Although this good mother may choose to add some discipline, the experience that naturally occurs when light is shed on evil acts is sufficient to train this child to never do this again. This is how God’s laws of what is right and wrong [the golden rule] do the work of personal growth by means of natural consequences. God is the one who will show this child what is the better way as He continues to lovingly and mercifully nurture His child as she continues to grow. God is kind.
2:5.4 God is divinely kind to sinners. When rebels return to righteousness, they are mercifully received, “for our God will abundantly pardon.” “I am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake, and I will not remember your sins.” “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God.”

Father understands ‘why’ we have done, and do, the things we choose to do. Although His cosmic laws are ever in place for our experiential learning, He is kind in His adjustments in our minds and hearts. This is why He gave us free will – as we learn from our mistakes – we grow. There is no unkindness, only love and understanding. He sends us on our way in life with His love. ~ Marin

God is perfect.
The more we seek God – the more we pursue cohesion [sticking to] with God – the more we begin to think like Him and then to act like Him with loving service for our fellows. One who is truly loving can never inflict unloving harm upon another. In God’s perfectness we discover Him to be irresistible as we experience Him in personal worship daily. In Jesus we see God in physical actions of beauty as His love is unconditional and His ever wide arms open to receive even the lowliest of beings. God is perfect, and we CAN become more and more like Him with every passing day.
140:10.1 That evening while teaching in the house, for it had begun to rain, Jesus talked at great length, trying to show the twelve what they must be, not what they must do. They knew only a religion that imposed the doing of certain things as the means of attaining righteousness [613 Jewish laws to follow] — salvation [by conditional behaviors rather than faith]. But Jesus would reiterate, "In the kingdom you must be righteous in order to do the work." Many times did he repeat, "Be you therefore perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect." All the while was the Master explaining to his bewildered apostles that the salvation which he had come to bring to the world was to be had only by believing, by simple and sincere faith. Said Jesus: "John preached a baptism of repentance, sorrow for the old way of living. You are to proclaim the baptism of fellowship with God. Preach repentance to those who stand in need of such teaching, but to those already seeking sincere entrance to the kingdom, open the doors wide and bid them enter into the joyous fellowship of the sons of God." But it was a difficult task to persuade these Galilean fishermen that, in the kingdom, being righteous, by faith, must precede doing righteousness in the daily life of the mortals of earth.

In knowing God with His love and kindness I discover that I want to become more like Him – more like Jesus, who IS God. I feel this deep in my heart and this has changed my life. Patience, mercy and love. Yes. I want to be like that! ~ Marin

God is mercy.
Mercy sets the guilt of evil-doing to one side; but love destroys forever the sin and all weakness resulting therefrom [188:5.2]. Our ‘feeling’ experiences of the presence of God reveal to us His loving kindness and mercy. Our logic then leads us to embrace rejection of any kind of false teachings whereby God is described as needing blood to be shed, works to be done for conditional acceptance or a fantasy-based place called Hell to be remotely considered. When we understand this love of God and His thorough understanding of us as His own created child it becomes easy to compassionately help our fellows. This is how we recognize that we are growing in His spiritual direction for we can witness ourselves growing in love, kindness and mercy for others. Yes! This is our litmus test. God is forever our goal in true religion, which is friendship with our Father within who is goodness and mercy.
4:4.7 In science, God is the First Cause; in religion [friendship with God], the universal and loving Father; in philosophy, the one being who exists by himself, not dependent on any other being for existence but beneficently conferring reality of existence [with free will] on all things and upon all other beings. But it requires revelation to show that the First Cause of science and the self-existent Unity of philosophy ARE the God of religion, full of mercy and goodness and pledged to effect the eternal survival of his children on earth.
God is righteous and just.
It is righteous and just when God sees us through and through with complete understanding of our struggles and efforts to live a good life when confusion and chaos are all around us. He knows all of this and completely comprehends WHY we do the things we do. This righteous attitude of God transcends any need for punishment. Yes, He has no need to punish us. His just ways seek to work with us, from within and without, for progression and the possibility of even what could be GREAT.
2:4.2 And never is it necessary that any influence be brought to bear upon the Father to call forth his loving-kindness. The creature’s need is wholly sufficient to insure the full flow of the Father’s tender mercies and his saving grace. Since God knows all about his children, it is easy for him to forgive. The better man understands his neighbor, the easier it will be to forgive him, even to love him.
2:3.1 God is righteous; therefore is he just. “The Lord is righteous in all his ways.” “‘I have not done without cause all that I have done,’ says the Lord.” “The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.” The justice of the Universal Father cannot be influenced by the acts and performances of his creatures, “for there is no iniquity with the Lord our God, no respect of persons [partiality], no taking of gifts.”
Because the Son of God came to us on His sapphire world we are now ready to grasp by faith alone the personalized expression of God – Jesus. This is the fundamental importance of knowing what our Master actually said and did. God shows us His righteousness in the person of Jesus of Nazareth, who is divine AND human.
4:3.7 The character of God is infinitely superhuman; therefore must such a nature of divinity be personalized, as in the divine Sons [our Jesus], before it can even be faith-grasped by the finite mind of man.
Jesus IS God.
The apostles had a difficult time understanding Jesus’ teachings.
138:5.2 When they had refreshed themselves, Jesus took the twelve apart for a season to pray with them and to instruct them in the nature and work of the Holy Spirit, but again did they largely fail to comprehend the meaning of those wonderful truths which he endeavored to teach them. One would grasp one point and one would comprehend another, but none of them could encompass the whole of his teaching. Always would they make the mistake of trying to fit Jesus' new gospel into their old forms of religious belief [Acceptance by God due to following certain Judaic laws]. They could not grasp the idea that Jesus had come to proclaim a new gospel of salvation and to establish a new way of finding God; they did not perceive that HE was a new revelation of the Father in heaven.
5:4.5 All religions teach the worship of Deity and some doctrine of human salvation. The Buddhist religion promises salvation from suffering, unending peace; the Jewish religion promises salvation from difficulties, prosperity predicated on righteousness; the Greek religion promised salvation from disharmony, ugliness, by the realization of beauty; Christianity promises salvation from sin, sanctity; Mohammedanism provides deliverance from the rigorous moral standards of Judaism and Christianity. The religion of Jesus [friendship with God] IS salvation from self, deliverance from the evils of creature isolation in time and in eternity.
Jesus knew full well the incredible difficulties of living life on earth [think global pandemics, nuclear wars, hunger, profit motive, slavery/human trafficking, degradation of woman etc...] He understood the varied doctrines [teachings, abstractions] of the world religions of His day. He saw the spiritual darkness and ignorance regarding the true character and nature of His Father, maligned by those seeking to control others with fear and shame. He witnessed and felt the sufferings of His children and sought to show them [and now us] the path to freedom from fear, isolation and evil. Is it any wonder that Jesus would choose to go to the cross in order to show us that He deeply understands the most intense pain and suffering that we too might experience, to any greater or lesser degree? Yes! THIS is the real reason that Jesus allowed Himself to be so tortured and abused unto death, even crucifixion.

God is our Father.
God is a Father to each one of us, even our enemies.
5:4.15 In the study of the religious life of Jesus, view him positively. Think not so much of his sinlessness as of his righteousness, his loving service. Jesus up-stepped the passive love disclosed in the Hebrew concept of the heavenly Father to the higher active and creature-loving affection of a God who is the Father of every individual, even of the wrongdoer.
Father’s spirit is the same for everyone. This is spirit ‘unity’, not uniformity in that we are all different in thinking and protocols, but not different in ‘unity’ as we are all indwelt with the same spirit of God.
141:5.1 One of the most eventful of all the evening conferences at Amathus was the session having to do with the discussion of spiritual unity. James Zebedee had asked, "Master, how shall we learn to see alike and thereby enjoy more harmony among ourselves?" When Jesus heard this question, he was stirred within his spirit, so much so that he replied: "James, James, when did I teach you that you should all see alike? I have come into the world to proclaim spiritual liberty to the end that mortals may be empowered to live individual lives of originality and freedom before God. I do not desire that social harmony and fraternal peace shall be purchased by the sacrifice of free personality and spiritual originality. What I require of you, my apostles, is spirit unity — and that you can experience in the joy of your united dedication to the wholehearted doing of the will of my Father in heaven. You do not have to see alike or feel alike or even think alike in order spiritually to be alike. Spiritual unity is derived from the consciousness that each of you is indwelt, and increasingly dominated, by the spirit gift of the heavenly Father. Your apostolic harmony must grow out of the fact that the spirit hope of each of you is identical in origin, nature, and destiny.
It is our Father’s indwelling spirit that unifies us as One, and we will each express Him in our own and
separate lives. Do you see His beautiful plan?

God loves YOU!
“The Father longs for every mortal to know that they are deeply cherished and watched over. Yes, that is simply the tip of the iceberg of the help I speak of. It requires an effort on your part to simply be open; to feel loved, and trust that you are guided. There is joy to be had; new possibilities to be envisioned; and always hope.” ~ Abraham

Jesus was a Jew. Yes. However, this is simply because He was born into a Jewish family and learned those traditions. Recognize what our Master is saying here...
145:2.4 "You well know that, while a kindhearted father loves his family as a whole, he so regards them as a group because of his strong affection for each individual member of that family. No longer must you approach the Father in heaven as a child of Israel but as a child of God. As a group, you are indeed the children of Israel, but as individuals, each one of you is a child of God. I have come, not to reveal the Father to the children of Israel, but rather to bring this knowledge of God and the revelation of his love and mercy to the individual believer as a genuine personal experience. The prophets have all taught you that Yahweh cares for his people, that God loves Israel. But I have come among you to proclaim a greater truth, one which many of the later prophets also grasped, that God loves you — every one of you — as individuals. All these generations have you had a national or racial religion; now have I come to give you a personal religion.” ~ Jesus
As a planetary population we will all come to realize the eternal goal for our world is ‘Light and Life’ where everyone, eventually, will live and love God as Jesus describes. But let us specifically comprehend that this happens ONE INDIVIDUAL AT A TIME! Therefore, what may be desired on the world’s stage in the aggregate begins as spiritual illumination by each and every one of us. THEN our world will discover God in His actual and true character and nature as the family of God and the FRIENDS OF JESUS. The God of eternity loves YOU!
147:3.3 In speaking to those assembled, Jesus said: "Many of you are here, sick and afflicted, because of your many years of wrong living. Some suffer from the accidents of time, others as a result of the mistakes of their forebears, while some of you struggle under the handicaps of the imperfect conditions of your temporal existence. But my Father works, and I would work, to improve your earthly state but more especially to insure your eternal estate. None of us can do much to change the difficulties of life unless we discover the Father in heaven so wills. After all, we are all beholden to do the will of the Eternal. If you could all be healed of your physical afflictions, you would indeed marvel, but it is even greater that you should be cleansed of all spiritual disease and find yourselves healed of all moral infirmities. You are all God's children; you are the sons of the heavenly Father. The bonds of time may seem to afflict you, but the God of eternity loves you. And when the time of judgment shall come, fear not, you shall all find, not only justice, but an abundance of mercy. Verily, verily, I say to you: He who hears the gospel of the kingdom and believes in this teaching of son-ship with God, has eternal life; already are such believers passing from judgment and death to light and life. And the hour is coming in which even those who are in the tombs shall hear the voice of the resurrection."
We may come to know things ABOUT God over time. What does this really DO for us? These are merely ‘facts’ ABOUT Him. One might read a profile ABOUT someone on a dating site, but would this mean that they really KNOW them? Not at all. What Jesus is saying is that He desires for us to comprehend and KNOW our Father in His true meaning as we become OF God and OF Jesus. We each have a spiritual career set before us and light and life is the goal in experiencing His LIVING TRUTH in our hearts and minds individually whereby God becomes dominant and transcendent in our own beings. This is the reason behind our name as ‘Friends OF Jesus’ and not just friends about Jesus. Do you see the difference? One is concept and theory while the latter is actual direct connection and friendship, relationship with God on a very personal level. And this grows and grows over time.
193:0.3 "And now you should give ear to my words lest you again make the mistake of hearing my teaching with the mind while in your hearts you fail to comprehend the meaning. From the beginning of my sojourn as one of you, I taught you that my one purpose was to reveal my Father in heaven to his children on earth. I have lived the God-revealing bestowal that you might experience the God-knowing career. I have revealed God as your Father in heaven; I have revealed you as the sons of God on earth. It is a fact that God loves you, his sons. By faith in my word this fact becomes an eternal and living truth in your hearts. When, by living faith, you become divinely God-conscious, you are then born of the spirit as children of light and life, even the eternal life wherewith you shall ascend the universe of universes and attain the experience of finding God the Father on Paradise.” ~ Jesus
When at first I heard of Jesus and God, His Father, my heart immediately opened up. As I thought about what I heard I was grateful that my sins had been ‘forgiven’ supposedly by the blood of Jesus shed on a cross which God desired, needed and required in order for me to be accepted. This was confusing. I understood that Jesus loved me – enough to be crucified. [Horrific!] This made me cry. But, “God loves you” I was told. God? Love? How is ordering Jesus, His beloved Son, to be tortured and nailed to a cross ‘LOVE’??? In fact, this made ME feel guilty because I was told it was my sin that nailed Him there. If God’s ‘love’ did this to His own Son then what might He do to me? This made me afraid of God. It was supposedly love that desired blood and death. Huh? Does this make sense to you? It did not to me. It was terrifying, horrific, ugly, evil and full of hate and vengeance. Maybe THIS IS GOD?! Eventually, I came out of this stupid stupor. The fact of Jesus’ crucifixion is not in doubt. The typical explanation and subsequent doctrines ARE! God ‘allowed’ this path for Jesus. He did not ‘order’ it. As we have said before, Jesus chose of His own volition to experience massive and intense pain and suffering so that He might fully feel, taste and drink the cup of human experience in our world, a world soon to come out of the terrible Lucifer rebellion. And this rebellion IS finally over. The time for correcting these false teachings [doctrines] about God is here and NOW. We are Friends OF Jesus because we are friends with God, who is loving, nurturing, understanding and GOOD. Clarify this for others. Help Them! Feed Them! Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.” ~ Marin

God knows all things
Although God seems to be hidden from us – He is not! He is simply SO incredibly spiritual, SO massively powerful and SO comprehensive in His awareness of all things in all places of time and space – WE are not spiritually ready to see Him in Paradise, face to face, as it were. However, we will be like this someday. I can’t wait! And so we begin our journey to Him in this life with His indwelling tendril of love securely placed within our hearts and minds as our guide and pilot. It is up to us how quickly we desire to grow. Things can go slow or fast.
3:3.3 His consciousness is universal. His personal circuit encompasses all personalities, and his knowledge of even the lowly creatures is supplemented indirectly through the descending series of divine Sons and directly through the indwelling Thought Adjusters. And furthermore, the Infinite Spirit [Who is ‘mind’] is all the time everywhere present.
Example: When a baby nurses from its mother, they are about 9 inches from her face. Babies need a caring parent for healthy development. Without this they can become skewed and unhealthy in personality progress. This is our Father’s way. As this analogy is terrifically insufficient it is still the best representation of God’s relation to us – except that – our spiritual parent, our Father, is not 9 inches from our faces. He actually dwells within us! There is NO distance between us and Him except that distance that we choose to keep ourselves to ourselves with our will standing in opposition to His will. He respectfully accepts this and affords us our own free will choice. If you have ever longed for a truly good friend, a BEST friend, loyal and nurturing, He is living in your own heart and mind.
5:0.1 If the finite mind of man is unable to comprehend how so great and so majestic a God as the Universal Father can descend from his eternal abode in infinite perfection to fraternize [socialize, friendliness] with the individual human creature, then must such a finite intellect rest assurance of divine fellowship upon the truth of the fact that an actual fragment of the living God resides within the intellect of every normal-minded and morally conscious Urantia mortal. The indwelling Thought Adjusters are a part OF the eternal Deity of the Paradise Father. Man does not have to go farther than his own inner experience of the soul’s contemplation of this spiritual-reality presence to find God and attempt communion with him.
5:0.2 God has distributed the infinity of his eternal nature throughout the existential realities of his six absolute co-ordinates, but he may, at any time, make direct personal contact with any part or phase or kind of creation through the agency of his pre-personal fragments. And the eternal God has also reserved to himself the prerogative of bestowing personality upon the divine Creators and the living creatures of the universe of universes [US], while he has further reserved the prerogative of maintaining direct and parental contact with all these personal beings through the personality circuit.

Until I embraced rejection of these false man-made descriptions [abstractions] of my loving Father, I was too afraid of Him. I felt so isolated from such a perceived ‘God of wrath’. I could not discover God within until I chose to believe the truth of Him, by faith, and began to pursue Him, MY Father of love. Once I began to quietly, privately and personally seek Him within for who He really was did I begin to taste, feel and KNOW His presence. This has been life-changing. I discovered God as my patient and mind-expanding spiritual leader and teacher. I began to think differently. Old things passed away – fell away—and His new and emerging presence started to fill every niche in my thinking. I began to realize that He was making me ‘more’ than I ever thought I could be. Thoughts of insecurity, fear and doubt fell off to be replaced by an Assurance of who He truly is. And this has grown and grown over time. He will do this for you also. God is not…
There exists a difference between the idea or thought of God on one hand, and the experience reality of Him on the other. Most people have an idea of the Lord as an abstraction, almost with very little inner personal communion or feeling-development (soul-development) with Him. It is the experiencing of God which develops the soul. It is reliant upon the mental capacity for understanding this experience. It is the humanizing of this experience, and the personalizing of this experience, which causes those spiritual forces to mobilize and cause spiritual growth for the individual.
There is no spiritual growth without thought – without the thinking, reasoning, wise understanding of the spiritual experience. At first this experience is limited and fleeting. Yet, if it is pursued wisely, sagaciously, this experience becomes, and makes, the individual become more and more real. As you realize your potential spiritual growth, this active transfer of purely spiritual (and with some, mental) energies causes the phenomenon of soul growth; and this soul becomes a morontia reality.
The soul becomes a morontia [more spiritual] reality while we are yet mortal. It is the combination of the material, mortal, mental process—with the purely spiritual input from the Father, the Thought Adjuster—that this combination produces a new reality. This is a life-long project for both parties involved. The mortal mind must grasp and understand the spiritual reality for it to be made real for that individual. It is a process of becoming who you really are; the process of realizing your mortal potential – which potential shall extend to the morontia worlds [life after this life], but it is begun on this world. Therefore, it is important that you receive and understand.
Spiritual realities. I have difficulty in trying to convey this because it is the only reality for me. For you who are in a much more limited state of perception, this is more of an 'idea' than a 'truth.'
This truth is as real to me as the chair you’re sitting in is to you. Yet to me, the physical material reality is such a limited place; it is so confined that the greater spiritual world is unrecognized by your limited [mortal] perception. Therefore, in order to perceive the spiritual reality of the world, one must see with spiritual eyes, perceiving the value, the beauty, the goodness – which goes beyond mere physical realities.
Sometimes it is difficult to expand the mind to the point of grasping the greater spiritual reality. Yet it is this grasping, this expansion, which is necessary in order to enfold and incorporate this greater reality into a personal experience – which causes spiritual growth and soul ascension. ~ Ham

From its roots, abstraction should mean basically "something pulled or drawn away". So abstract art is composition or creation having designs that do not represent actual objects very well. Theories are often abstractions and are most likely lacking in full truth; so a theory about economics, for instance, may "pull back" to take a broad view that somehow explains all of economics (but maybe doesn't end up explaining any of it very successfully). An abstract of a medical or scientific article is a one-paragraph summary of its contents that is, the basic findings "pulled out" of the article. This most likely is an incomplete representation due to the lack of full explanation.

The time comes for us to comprehensively recognize WHO God truly is, not by abstraction, but by learning what everyone else is our universe understands Him to be. We on Urantia are just a bit behind all others. As stated previously; the Lucifer rebellion is recently over and rebels are ‘no more’. The true life and teachings of Jesus will bring everyone into this reality of God – Who IS Reality!

God is more than nature or the universe personified
1:2.2 The eternal God is infinitely more than reality idealized or the universe personalized. God is not simply the supreme desire of man, the mortal quest objectified. Neither is God merely a concept, the power-potential of righteousness. The Universal Father is not a synonym for nature, neither is he natural law personified. God is a transcendent reality, not merely man's traditional concept of supreme values. God is not a psychological focalization of spiritual meanings, neither is he "the noblest work of man." God may be any or all of these concepts in the minds of men, but he is more. He is a saving Person and a loving Father to all who enjoy spiritual peace on earth, and who crave to experience personality survival in death.
God is not like me. He is not to be anthropomorphized [human qualities applied in the abstract]. God is far, far greater! We may struggle with things like anger, the lack of love or un-forgiveness, but our Father feels none of these things. God is jealous as in He is vigilant in guarding us. His desire for us is to become more and more like Him, to live and know Him as He is in His all-consuming adoring passion for us to KNOW Him as His beloved child. ~ Marin
4:3.1 All too long has man thought of God as one like himself. God is not, never was, and never will be jealous of man or any other being in the universe of universes. Knowing that the Creator Son [our Jesus] intended man to be the masterpiece of the planetary creation, to be the ruler of all the earth, the sight of his being dominated by his own baser passions, the spectacle of his bowing down before idols of wood, stone, gold, and selfish ambition — these sordid scenes stir God and his Sons to be jealous for man, but never of him.
God is a Person. Morality, social service, abstract beauty, sects of unity or the exaltation of nature is not ‘worship’. These things are not ‘persons’.
5:5.4 Moral conduct is always an antecedent [coming before] of evolved religion and a part of even revealed religion, but never the whole of religious experience. Social service is the result of moral thinking and religious living. Morality does not biologically lead to the higher spiritual levels of religious experience [friendship with God]. The adoration of the abstract beautiful is not the worship of God; neither is exaltation of nature nor the reverence of unity the worship of God.

2:7.5 Philosophers commit their gravest error when they are misled into the fallacy of abstraction, the practice of focusing the attention upon one aspect of reality and then of pronouncing such an isolated aspect to be the whole truth. The wise philosopher will always look for the creative design which is behind, and pre-existent to, all universe phenomena. The creator thought invariably precedes creative action.
12:9.5 Your religion is becoming real because it is emerging from the slavery of fear and the bondage of superstition. Your philosophy struggles for emancipation from dogma and tradition. Your science is engaged in the age-long contest between truth and error while it fights for deliverance from the bondage of abstraction, the slavery of mathematics, and the relative blindness of mechanistic materialism.
102:7.3 Those who would invent a religion without God [as a unified Person] are like those who would gather fruit without trees, have children without parents. You cannot have effects without causes; only the I AM is causeless. The fact of religious experience implies God, and such a God of personal experience must be a personal Deity. You cannot pray to a chemical formula, supplicate a mathematical equation, worship a hypothesis, confide in a postulate, commune with a process, serve an abstraction, or hold loving fellowship with a law.
We worship God for Who He Is – a unified Person!

God Discovered.
God is living love—emphasis on LIVING. He is real in His spiritual realm. He is spiritual reality! To ignore and subvert leads to nothingness. To embrace His friendship, to accept His goodness, to engage with His Personality is to become more than you are today. HE makes us more as our nurturing parent.
One does not have to be a member of a man-made world religion.
It is high time for man [females included in reference to ‘man’] to set aside these historically preconceived notions of God found in man-made abstractions of Him. His true character and nature reveal to us this life-giving Person who can be known and loved and love us in return discovered in authentic personal spiritual communal worship within. Enjoy and embrace your God Discovered!
4:3.2 The eternal God is incapable of wrath and anger in the sense of these human emotions [anthropomorphisms] and as man understands such reactions. These sentiments are mean and despicable; they are hardly worthy of being called human, much less divine; and such attitudes are utterly foreign to the perfect nature and gracious character of the Universal Father.

It is no wonder why we have been so confused for such a long, long time [200K+ years]. We thank our Father and His Son that this horrible Lucifer rebellion is now OVER! The time has finally come whereby all of us, all of mankind can now comprehend in our minds who God truly is. We can now approach Him with NO fear, NO guilt and NO insecurities. Our minds can become clear and in childlike faith we can faith-grasp His loving goodness towards us by spiritual experience personally – direct personal contact from God to us.

4:3.3 Much, very much, of the difficulty which Urantia mortals have in understanding God is due to the far-reaching consequences of the Lucifer rebellion and the Caligastia [deposed Earth planetary prince, now replaced by Machiventa Melchizedek] betrayal. On worlds not segregated by sin, the evolutionary races are able to formulate far better ideas of the Universal Father; they suffer less from confusion, distortion, and perversion of concept.

We are the captains of our little mortal ship [our bodies] housing our indwelling Thought Adjusters, fragments of God Himself. As any good ship has it’s captain, there is also a pilot who receives direction from this said captain. He respects our free will. Until we allow Him taking control of where and how our ship progresses, He patiently waits. Yes! God is WAITING for YOU to tell Him, to allow Him, the control to provide the best of destinations – HIM! [greater communication with our Thought Adjusters today, eventual Paradise meeting face-to-face in our eternal life]

4:3.4 God repents of nothing he has ever done, now does, or ever will do. He is all-wise as well as all-powerful. Man’s wisdom grows out of the trials and errors of human experience; God’s wisdom consists in the unqualified perfection of his infinite universe insight, and this divine foreknowledge effectively directs the creative free will.

1:3.8 “I come forth from the Eternal [in Paradise], and I have repeatedly returned to the presence of the Universal Father. I know of the actuality and personality of the First Source and Center, the Eternal and Universal Father. I know that, while the great God is absolute, eternal, and infinite, he is also good, divine, and gracious. I know the truth of the great declarations: "God is spirit" and "God is love," and these two attributes are most completely revealed to the universe in the Eternal Son.”

Will a child run up to an adult, parent or otherwise, if they are afraid? Will they unreservedly rush to show their unabashed affections to a parent or adult of whom they know will shame them for being young and so small? Do children confide their deepest thoughts and feelings to someone who they already know does not care for them, does not show love towards them? No. Sadly, they will not. On the contrary, it is easy to embrace, show affection and confide in one who is so loving, understanding and forgiving. This is the heart of God towards us. We are also new and young beings. God loves us!
2:5.7 I find it easy and pleasant to worship one who is so great and at the same time so affectionately devoted to the uplifting ministry of his lowly creatures. I naturally love one who is so powerful in creation and in the control thereof, and yet who is so perfect in goodness and so faithful in the loving-kindness which constantly overshadows us. I think I would love God just as much if he were not so great and powerful, as long as he is so good and merciful. We all love the Father more because of his nature than in recognition of his amazing attributes.

God cannot ‘hate sin’ for sin is not a person. God loves the person who makes mistakes while He knows that we are learning by experience what is right and wrong in His created universes via free will.
2:6.8 God loves the sinner and hates the sin: such a statement is true philosophically, but God is a transcendent personality, and persons can only love and hate other persons. Sin is not a person. God loves the sinner because he is a personality reality (potentially eternal), while towards sin God strikes no personal attitude, for sin is not a spiritual reality; it is not personal; therefore does only the justice of God take cognizance of its existence. The love of God saves the sinner; the law of God destroys the sin. This attitude of the divine nature would apparently change if the sinner finally identified himself wholly with sin [habitual opposition to what God wants] just as the same mortal mind may also fully identify itself with the indwelling spirit Adjuster. Such a sin-identified mortal would then become wholly unspiritual in nature (and therefore personally unreal) and would experience eventual extinction of being [no painful end, just a cessation of existence]. Unreality, even incompleteness of creature nature, cannot exist forever in a progressingly real and increasingly spiritual universe.
Past records of God are untrustworthy.
God has been working in humans for eons! He has never stopped and will never cease His never-ending spiritual work within us.
“Revelation to the mind engages provocative thought in spiritual channels in many unexpected ways [creating ‘beauty’ within us]. This is an experiential commitment to divinity of thought and is rewarded by a deepening feeling and understanding of the presence of the Father. Deepening devotion of thought is required in order to progress spiritually in a material world. You must train and discipline your mind. Throughout history people have had inspiring thoughts that have been recorded in word or deed. 4:5.1 Religious tradition is the imperfectly preserved record of the experiences of the God-knowing men of past ages, but such records are untrustworthy as guides for religious living or as the source of true information about the Universal Father. Such ancient beliefs have been invariably altered by the fact that primitive man was a mythmaker. [However, some did actually ‘know’ God]
Placing anyone before God Himself in priority [EVEN celestial teachings/messages] limits His potential power in our lives. Simply said: No one should replace His primary focus in our thinking or pursuit if we want the highest and best outcomes for our living. Concept/theory ABOUT God [teachings/lessons] without actually attaining Him in our minds avails little for us. God is a PERSON and no one can replace Him. [pursuing ‘messages’ from our celestial helpers more than pursuing God Himself is in opposition to those very ‘messages’ we may receive, and then share with others]

4:5.2 One of the greatest sources of confusion on Urantia concerning the nature of God grows out of the failure of your sacred books clearly to distinguish between the personalities of the Paradise Trinity and between Paradise Deity and the local universe creators and administrators. During the past dispensations of partial understanding, your priests and prophets failed clearly to differentiate between Planetary Princes, System Sovereigns, Constellation Fathers, Creator Sons, Superuniverse Rulers, the Supreme Being, and the Universal Father. Many of the messages of subordinate personalities, such as Life Carriers and various orders of angels, have been, in your records, presented as coming from God himself. Urantian religious thought still confuses the associate personalities of Deity with the Universal Father himself, so that all are included under one appellation. [This confusion is currently being corrected as we can now better ascertain between God Himself, who is to be worshiped and attained within us juxtaposed those who WORK FOR God and His Son, Michael, who is our universe Sovereign and also our Master Creator Son, Jesus.]

4:5.3 The people of Urantia continue to suffer from the influence of primitive concepts of God. The gods who go on a rampage in the storm; who shake the earth in their wrath and strike down men in their anger; who inflict their judgments of displeasure in times of famine and flood — these are the gods of primitive religion; they are not the Gods who live and rule the universes. Such concepts are a relic of the times when men supposed that the universe was under the guidance and domination of the whims of such imaginary gods. But mortal man is beginning to realize that he lives in a realm of comparative law and order as far as concerns the administrative policies and conduct of the Supreme Creators and the Supreme Controllers.
4:5.5 The Hebrews believed that “without the shedding of blood there could be no remission of sin.” They had not found deliverance from the old and pagan idea that the Gods could not be appeased except by the sight of blood, though Moses did make a distinct advance when he forbade human sacrifices and substituted therefor, in the primitive minds of his childlike Bedouin followers, the ceremonial sacrifice of animals.
Jesus did not come to our world as a ‘sacrifice’ to redeem mankind back to God. God has never needed to buy back, win back, free us from any captivity or to release us from blame or debt to Him by way of blood shed and death. His love does not work like that. Our fore-fathers and fore-mothers believed that there needed to be some kind of sacrificial blood atonement for their mistakes. God has NEVER required this because His love for His children has always been free, full, complete and ready to satisfy all of our real needs simply because He loves us and asks of us only our faith.
4:5.6 The bestowal of a Paradise Son [Jesus] on your world was inherent in the situation of closing a planetary age; it was inescapable, and it was not made necessary for the purpose of winning the favor of God. This bestowal also happened to be the final personal act of a Creator Son in the long adventure of earning the experiential sovereignty of his universe. What a travesty upon the infinite character of God! this teaching that his fatherly heart in all its austere coldness and hardness was so untouched by the misfortunes and sorrows of his creatures that his tender mercies were not forthcoming until he saw his blameless Son bleeding and dying upon the cross of Calvary!

THE TIME IS RIPE for Jesus to be resurrected from the tomb of erroneous tradition and dogma. His life and teachings will bring our world into Light and Life – one individual at a time. Consider: WHY did Jesus choose to go to Jerusalem, submit to arrest and illegal midnight trials, and be tortured and crucified on a cross? He did not do this in order to rescue, deliver, ransom, reclaim or save anyone. No! He did this so that He could fully comprehend and experience the pain and suffering as He ‘drank the cup to full’ of the human experience. As a result, we have a Master who completely understands OUR pain and suffering on this world full of chaos and confusion.

4:5.7 But the inhabitants of Urantia are to find deliverance from these ancient errors and pagan superstitions respecting the nature of the Universal Father. The revelation of the truth about God is appearing, and the human race is destined to know the Universal Father in all that beauty of character and loveliness of attributes so magnificently portrayed by the Creator Son who sojourned on Urantia as the Son of Man and the Son of God.

As a Christian pastor I was deeply embedded in the ‘system’ of this world religion with it’s fundamentals taken from the olden Judaic beliefs applied to Jesus by Paul, the great corrupter of what our Master really taught and how He so perfectly lived His life among us. [Part 4 of The Urantia Book] Once I recognized these false teachings, it was easy, pleasant and thrillingto begin to relate to my Father as He truly is. My fear of Him fell away, my superstitions vanished, my freedom from doubts were replaced by an ASSURANCE of His love, kindness and eagerness to meet with me, personally, any time I chose to seek Him in the practice of stillness and attainment in direct contact in my own heart and mind. He has become DOMINANT and TRANSCENDENT as He has lifted my thoughts into those thoughts that He wants me to have – more like Him. He provides the spiritual energy, the impetus for loving service to my fellows and fuels me by His enduring peace. ~ Marin
103:2.1 Religion [friendship with God] is functional in the human mind and has been realized in experience prior to its appearance in human consciousness. A child has been in existence about nine months before it experiences birth. But the “birth” of religion [friendship with God] is not sudden; it is rather a gradual emergence. Nevertheless, sooner or later there is a “birth day.” You do not enter the kingdom of heaven unless you have been “born again” ~ Jesus — born of the Spirit.
Being born of the Spirit is a private matter that was experienced firsthand by the human and divine Jesus when he initiated his quest to connect with the “Father in him.” For human beings, it marks the onset of eternal life. However, our instructions reveal that God who indwells us MUST become dominant and control every part of our lives.
141:6.4 That night Jesus discoursed to the apostles on the new life in the kingdom. He said in part: “When you enter the kingdom, you are reborn. You cannot teach the deep things of the spirit to those who have been born only of the flesh; first see that men are born of the spirit before you seek to instruct them in the advanced ways of the spirit. Do not undertake to show men the beauties of the temple until you have first taken them into the temple [their human hearts and minds where God dwells]. Introduce men to God and as the sons of God before you discourse on the doctrines [teachings] of the fatherhood of God and the sonship of men. Do not strive with men — always be patient. It is not your kingdom; you are only ambassadors. Simply go forth proclaiming: This is the kingdom of heaven — God is your Father and you are his sons, and this good news, if you wholeheartedly believe it, is your eternal salvation.” ~ Jesus [the term ‘sons’ includes women]
The myth of God’s Wrath
142:2.1- 4 There was in Jerusalem in attendance upon the Passover festivities one Jacob, a wealthy Jewish trader from Crete, and he came to Andrew making request to see Jesus privately. Andrew arranged this secret meeting with Jesus at Flavius’s home the evening of the next day. This man could not comprehend the Master’s teachings, and he came because he desired to inquire more fully about the kingdom of God. Said Jacob to Jesus: “But, Rabbi, Moses and the olden prophets tell us that Yahweh is a jealous God, a God of great wrath and fierce anger. The prophets say he hates evildoers and takes vengeance on those who obey not his law. You and your disciples teach us that God is a kind and compassionate Father who so loves all men that he would welcome them into this new kingdom of heaven, which you proclaim is so near at hand [available to all].”

When Jacob finished speaking, Jesus replied: “Jacob, you have well stated the teachings of the olden prophets who taught the children of their generation in accordance with the light of their day. Our Father in Paradise is changeless. But the concept of his nature has enlarged and grown from the days of Moses down through the times of Amos and even to the generation of the prophet Isaiah. And now have I come in the flesh to reveal the Father in new glory and to show forth his love and mercy to all men on all worlds. As the gospel of this kingdom shall spread over the world with its message of good cheer and good will to all men, there will grow up improved and better relations among the families of all nations. As time passes, fathers and their children will love each other more, and thus will be brought about a better understanding of the love of the Father in heaven for his children on earth. Remember, Jacob, that a good and true father not only loves his family as a whole — as a family — but he also truly loves and affectionately cares for each individual member.”

After considerable discussion of the heavenly Father’s character, Jesus paused to say: “You, Jacob, being a father of many, know well the truth of my words.” And Jacob said: “But, Master, who told you I was the father of six children? How did you know this about me?” And the Master replied: “Suffice it to say that the Father and the Son know all things, for indeed they see all. Loving your children as a father on earth, you must now accept as a reality the love of the heavenly Father for you — not just for all the children of Abraham, but for you, your individual soul.” Then Jesus went on to say...

What is God?

Touching upon this previously, we restate that He is our loving FATHER. God is the original good parent of all personalities everywhere in His vast domain.
4:4.5 “First and last — eternally — the infinite God is a Father. Of all the possible titles by which he might appropriately be known, I have been instructed to portray the God of all creation as the Universal Father.“~ our Divine Counselor hailing from Paradise
2:5.10 But the love of God [verb, His action towards us] is an intelligent and farseeing parental affection. The divine love functions in unified association with divine wisdom and all other infinite characteristics of the perfect nature of the Universal Father. God is love, but love is not God. The greatest manifestation [evidence] of the divine love for mortal beings is observed in the bestowal of the Thought Adjusters, but your greatest revelation [disclosure in human example] of the Father's love is seen in the bestowal life of his Son Michael as he lived on earth the ideal spiritual life. It is the indwelling Adjuster who individualizes the love of God to each human soul.
Yes. God is love [noun, a person, love Personified], but love [verb, the action of the emotion called ‘love’] is not God. God is a Person who loves and IS love [noun and verb]. This is the original definition. However, the definition of love as a human emotion, an action verb, is different. Love as an emotion is not God as love personified. Although it is God-like to actively love another fellow, we yet discover that one is a noun and the latter is a verb. Do you see this difference?
2:6.4 The concept of God as a king-judge, although it fostered a high moral standard and created a law-respecting people as a group, left the individual believer in a sad position of insecurity respecting his status in time and in eternity. The later Hebrew prophets proclaimed God to be a Father to Israel; Jesus revealed God as the Father of each human being. The entire mortal concept of God is transcendently illuminated by the life of Jesus. Selflessness is inherent in parental love. God loves not like a father, but as a father. He is the Paradise Father of every universe personality.
This is where the ‘chosen people’ concept came from and it then morphed over into Christianity whereby Paul applied this olden Jewish concept to his personally invented religion he named Christianity, as he used Jesus’ name, the Christ, as his [Paul’s] personally devised teachings. Paul and Jesus do not teach the same things! In studying what our Master really said we can see that Jesus actually did not teach the ‘chosen people’ theory as Paul taught it. However, Paul presents this as if it came from Jesus. Christians today have a hard time embracing the fact that belonging to a church or social group is not ‘salvation’ or ‘spiritual’. It is merely social. Jesus’ revelation—Jesus’ True Religion, is one that shows us that ALL people are ‘chosen’ by God in that each person has a Thought Adjuster that has chosen to incarcerate Himself within them, on an individual basis. This is not achieved corporately, although we should share His love and our experiences with Him, as individuals, in the group. Yes.
Father is the Creator of each of our ‘personalities’. This is WHAT He does.
Have you ever wondered where YOUR personality came from? Have you ever pondered what ‘personality’ really is? Personality is not mind, body or soul. It is YOU – totally unique and special. No one anywhere is like you because YOUR personality came from God in Paradise, as did your indwelling Thought Adjuster. And this glorious and divine romance is all about God in Paradise bringing you home to Him by way of your ‘pilot’ – your pre-personal Thought Adjuster. At the point of fusion [we will soon discuss this] you will become one with Him. He takes upon Himself your unique and adoring personality that He gave to you and you take on His divine spirit. This will signify your absolute commitment to Him for all eternity.
5:6.1 The Universal Father is the God of personalities. The domain of universe personality, from the lowest mortal and material creature of personality status [US] to the highest persons of creator dignity and divine status, has its center and circumference in the Universal Father. God the Father is the bestower and the conservator of every personality.
0:5.11 Personality. The personality of mortal man is neither body, mind, nor spirit; neither is it the soul. Personality is the one changeless reality in an otherwise ever-changing creature experience; and it unifies all other associated factors of individuality. The personality is the unique bestowal which the Universal Father makes upon the living and associated energies of matter, mind, and spirit, and which survives with the survival of the morontial soul.

112:7.9 Has the triumphant Adjuster won personality by the magnificent service to humanity, or has the valiant human acquired immortality through sincere efforts [persistence] to achieve Adjusterlikeness? It is neither; but they together have achieved the evolution of a member of one of the unique orders of the ascending personalities of the Supreme, one who will ever be found serviceable, faithful, and efficient, a candidate for further growth and development, ever ranging upward and never ceasing the supernal ascent until the seven circuits of Havona [Paradise area] have been traversed and the onetime soul of earthly origin stands in worshipful recognition of the actual Personality of the Father on Paradise.

WHEN IS GOD?
WHEN IS GOD is an enormous topic, for God is working at all times, in all ways—everywhere! Our original great Source and Center of all things and beings abides in Paradise now and is upholding all that He created. He lovingly controls all material things in His universes. Without our Powerful God no thing could continue to exist. And He does all of this and His heart of love reaches out in order to continue to create beauty in His cosmology – the interaction, interplay between our Creator and His creatures and creations. God is constantly present. He exists, lives and loves in all places at the same time. He will be present in our future one minute from now or 50 years from now. God is ALWAYS!
There are no records.
Because God is our original and infinite Creator there is no archive of His actions back in eternity. No created being was there. However, we do know this from the third person of the Trinity...
8:1.9 In brief, the Infinite Spirit testifies that, since he is eternal, so also is the central universe eternal. And this is the traditional starting point of the history of the universe of universes. Absolutely nothing is known, and no records are in existence, regarding any event or transaction prior to this stupendous eruption of creative energy and administrative wisdom that crystallized the vast universe which exists, and so exquisitely functions, at the center of all things. Beyond this event lie the unsearchable transactions of eternity and the depths of infinity — absolute mystery.
As finite humans, our minds can only comprehend things in sequential order. We live in time and space, so we cannot well fathom realities like eternity and infinity. However, I think we score some spiritual points when we TRY to understand God and His actions. We should continue to try our best.

So, here we go!

105:1.3 The I AM is the Infinite; the I AM is also infinity. From the sequential, time viewpoint, all reality has its origin in the infinite I AM, whose solitary existence in past infinite eternity must be a finite creature's premier philosophic postulate [simply stated, God was originally alone until He emerged the Son and then the Spirit which created the Trinity]. The concept of the I AM connotes unqualified infinity, the undifferentiated [no other created beings of His chosen differentials] reality of all that could ever be in all of an infinite eternity.
Remember: God is original EVERYTHING! Just as He creatively emerged the Trinity, He did not – has not stopped—creating multitudinous other orders of beings. We, on Urantia, have been in such a state of spiritual poverty and ignorance that we must now discipline our minds to open it up and enlarge our capacities for recognition, comprehension and understanding of these facts. They seem new to us only because of the ignorance we have enjoyed for so long. The rest of the universe not caught in the Lucifer rebellion know all about these other orders of beings. From Angels to Midwayers to Celestial Overseers and Teachers to Paradise Sons to Planetary Princes and many, many more the list goes on and on revealing the incredible creative powers of our God to share His glorious cosmos with His other creations. But I digress. We are discussing when God is.
Example: Hold up a pencil and think of it like a timeline. The point of the graphite of the pencil has that as an endpoint. The eraser at the end is another. Imagine this as time and space. Pretend you are God, who is in eternity, infinity—in no time or space, looking around this timeline. He can see the end to the end of what might be happening on that continuum, but He sees more. Recognizing all of the area around the pencil would be to imagine what eternity and infinity are. These are outside of the timeline. We can only see what is in the timeline of time or space for we are finite. He is in this timeline, but He is also outside of it. This is a rather sorry analogy, apologies! But it is quite difficult for us in any way to fathom this eternal aspect of God. In any event, it has helped us, so we share it.
3:1.7 The Universal Controller is potentially present in the gravity circuits of the Isle of Paradise in all parts of the universe at all times and in the same degree, in accordance with the mass, in response to the physical demands for this presence, and because of the inherent nature of all creation which causes all things to adhere [cohere] and consist in him. Likewise is the First Source and Center potentially present in the Unqualified Absolute, the repository of the uncreated universes of the eternal future. God thus potentially pervades the physical universes of the past, present, and future. He is the primordial foundation of the coherence [binding together] of the so-called material creation.
God, obviously, knows what He has done and is doing now. However, He is fully aware of His plans for future developments as time and space are continuing to enlarge. His power is completely sufficient to expand His universes that are, even now, being created in our outer space zones.

4:1.6 The Universal Father has not withdrawn from the management of the universes; he is not an inactive Deity. If God should retire as the present upholder of all creation, there would immediately occur a universal collapse. Except for God, there would be no such thing as reality. At this very moment, as during the remote ages of the past and in the eternal future, God continues to uphold. The divine reach extends around the circle of eternity. The universe is not wound up like a clock to run just so long and then cease to function; all things are constantly being renewed. The Father unceasingly pours forth energy, light, and life. The work of God is literal [absolute, nonfictional] as well as spiritual. "He stretches out the north over the empty space and hangs the earth upon nothing."
In finite-ness, God the Supreme is our God of action. Our Father is love and mercy. His Supreme being is our God who is looking for our cohesion with God in terms of our actions of loving worship for and service to others coming out of our Godlikeness – our free choice-desires to also create His beauty in our lives that pour forth His love to others. When we do this our Supreme actually grows and His future will be spiritually amazing for everyone, everywhere. He will bring all of us into perfection, together, at the same time in the future as Light and Life. This is what He is looking for. Our spiritual attainment contributes to Him in time and space.
117:6.16 It is not only man's own limitations which prevent him from finding the finite God; it is also the incompletion of the universe; even the incompletion of all creatures — past, present, and future — makes the Supreme inaccessible. God the Father can be found by any individual who has attained the divine level of Godlikeness, but God the Supreme will never be personally discovered by any one creature until that far-distant time when, through the universal attainment of perfection, all creatures will simultaneously find him.
“I come, then, to worship, not merely the God of existences, but the God of the possibility of all future existences. Therefore must your devotion to a supreme ideal, if that ideal is real, be devotion to this God of past, present, and future universes of things and beings. And there is no other God, for there cannot possibly be any other God. All other gods are figments of the imagination, illusions of mortal mind, distortions of false logic, and the self-deceptive idols of those who create them. Yes, you can have a religion without this God, but it does not mean anything. And if you seek to substitute the word God for the reality of this ideal of the living God, you have only deluded yourself by putting an idea in the place of an ideal, a divine reality. Such beliefs are merely religions of wishful fancy.” ~ Rodan 160:5.9
WHERE IS GOD?
God lives in Paradise.
3:5.4 Said Jesus: “My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” As you glimpse the manifold workings and view the staggering immensity of God’s well-nigh limitless creation, you may falter in your concept of his primacy, but you should not fail to accept him as securely and everlastingly enthroned at the Paradise center of all things and as the beneficent Father of all intelligent beings. There is but “one God and Father of all, who is above all and in all,” “and he is before all things, and in him all things consist.”

God is everywhere.
Where is the end of space? We cannot tell! Where is the end of time? No one knows but the Cause and Creator of both. Even if we could know these things it would still be insufficient to comprehend all that He is. So much of Himself—His knowledge, His power and His everywhereness brings us into His reality. Thinking upon these things helps us to discover a more realistic perspective of our smallness, our newness as His young beings. This keeps us in a grateful, humble and child-like mindset. He is SO VAST and incomprehensible and yet His love is SO MASSIVE that He chooses to place a tiny tendril of His own being into our little minds. And with Him -within us- “all things become possible” as we apply our faith AND trust in His goodness for our own lives.
3:1.2 “‘I am a God at hand [available] as well as afar off,’ says the Lord. ‘Do not I fill heaven and earth?’” The Universal Father is all the time present in all parts and in all hearts of his far-flung creation. He is “the fullness of him who fills all and in all,” and “who works all in all,” and further, the concept of his personality is such that “the heaven (universe) and heaven of heavens (universe of universes, the Central Universe of His abode) cannot contain him.” It is literally true that God is all and in all. But even that is not all of God. The Infinite can be finally revealed only in infinity; the cause can never be fully comprehended by an analysis of effects; the living God is immeasurably greater than the sum total of creation that has come into being as a result of the creative acts of his unfettered free will. God is revealed throughout the cosmos, but the cosmos can never contain or encompass the entirety of the infinity of God.
3:1.3 The Father’s presence unceasingly patrols the master universe. “His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit to the ends of it; and there is nothing hidden from the light thereof.”

3:1.4 The creature not only exists in God, but God also lives in the creature. “We know we dwell in him because he lives in us; he has given us his spirit. This gift from the Paradise Father is man’s inseparable companion.” “He is the ever-present and all-pervading God.” “The spirit of the everlasting Father is concealed in the mind of every mortal child.” “Man goes forth searching for a friend while that very friend lives within his own heart.” “The true God is not afar off; he is a part of us; his spirit speaks from within us.” “The Father lives in the child. God is always with us. He is the guiding spirit of eternal destiny.”
Can we cause our Father to suffer? Yes – we can! His great love for us caused Him to want to indwell us personally and directly. When we move in ways that are unloving, evil or sinful we do cause the heart of God to be tormented, not in retribution, but in great sorrow for our own lack of recognizing what is true, beautiful and good for ourselves. Our Thought Adjusters, as fragments of God Himself, have betrothed Himself to us for the duration. May we commit in our hearts to avoid any kind of evil so that we can bring delight to Him, and in turn He bestows us with joy, happiness and fulfillment.

3:1.5 Truly of the human race has it been said, “You are of God” because “he who dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him.” Even in wrongdoing you torment the indwelling gift of God, for the Thought Adjuster must needs go through the consequences of evil thinking with the human mind of its incarceration.
Our Father likes to share!
Anything that another of His created personalities can do, He prefers them to do. God likes to share in His universe work. He empowers and enables them to do that which He sets forth for them, just as He does with us. However, interestingly—He has kept for Himself the incredible prerogative to exclusively, uniquely and intimately KNOW us by way of His personality circuit. No other being does this. God wants to know YOU! He will not share this ability with anyone else. This is how special you are to Him. And, because Jesus [Michael] IS God – He also indwells us as our mighty Spirit of Truth, poured out upon all flesh on the Day of Pentecost [His second coming in spirit]. In this way He privately works with us and our worship goes immediately and directly back to Him in Paradise - immediately. This absolutely blows our mind! What manner of love is this?!
3:1.6 The omnipresence of God is in reality a part of his infinite nature; space constitutes no barrier to Deity. God is, in perfection and without limitation, discernibly present only on Paradise and in the central universe. He is not thus observably present in the creations encircling Havona, for God has limited his direct and actual presence in recognition of the sovereignty and the divine prerogatives of the co-ordinate creators and rulers of the universes of time and space. Hence must the concept of the divine presence allow for a wide range of both mode [His way of doing things] and channel [like a river has channels of flowing water] of manifestation embracing the presence circuits [channels] of the Eternal Son, the Infinite Spirit, and the Isle of Paradise. Nor is it always possible to distinguish between the presence of the Universal Father and the actions of his eternal co-ordinates and agencies [myriads of His personality differentiations similar to children who are differentiations of their parents], so perfectly do they fulfill all the infinite requirements of his unchanging purpose. But not so with the personality circuit and the Adjusters; here God acts uniquely, directly, and exclusively.
3:1.8 The mind presence of God is correlated [identified] with the absolute mind of the Conjoint Actor, the Infinite Spirit [third person of the Trinity], but in the finite creations [our local universe] it is better discerned in the everywhere functioning of the cosmic mind of the Paradise Master Spirits. But mind of the human order is a bestowal of the Daughters of the Conjoint Actor, the Divine Ministers of the evolving universes.
3:1.9 – 12 The everywhere-present spirit of the Universal Father is co-ordinated with the function of the universal spirit presence of the Eternal Son [2nd Person of the Trinity] and the everlasting divine potential of the Deity Absolute. But neither the spiritual activity of the Eternal Son and his Paradise Sons nor the mind bestowals of the Infinite Spirit seem to exclude the direct action of the Thought Adjusters, the indwelling fragments of God, in the hearts of his creature children.

Concerning God’s presence in a planet, system, constellation, or a universe, the degree of such presence in any creational unit is a measure of the degree of the evolving presence of the Supreme Being: It is determined by the en masse recognition of God and loyalty to him on the part of the vast universe organization, running down to the systems and planets themselves. Therefore it is sometimes with the hope of conserving and safeguarding these phases of God’s precious presence that, when some planets (or even systems) have plunged far into spiritual darkness [ancient Lucifer rebellion now over], they are in a certain sense quarantined, or partially isolated from intercourse with the larger units of creation. And all this, as it operates on Urantia, is a spiritually defensive reaction of the majority of the worlds to save themselves, as far as possible, from suffering the isolating consequences of the alienating acts of a headstrong, wicked, and rebellious minority.
While the Father parentally encircuits all his sons — all personalities — his influence in them is limited by the remoteness of their origin from the Second and the Third Persons of Deity [Conjoint Actor also named the Infinate Spirit, 3rd Person of the Trinity] and augmented as their destiny attainment nears such levels. The fact of God’s presence in creature minds is determined by whether or not they are indwelt by Father fragments, such as the Mystery Monitors, but his effective presence is determined by the degree of co-operation accorded these indwelling Adjusters by the minds of their sojourn.
The fluctuations of the Father’s presence are not due to the changeableness of God. The Father does not retire in seclusion because he has been slighted; his affections are not alienated because of the creature’s wrongdoing. Rather, having been endowed with the power of choice (concerning Himself), his children, in the exercise of that choice, directly determine the degree and limitations of the Father’s divine influence in their own hearts and souls. The Father has freely bestowed himself upon us without limit and without favor. He is no respecter of persons [no partiality], planets, systems, or universes.
God lives in YOU
5:2.2 – 6 God lives in every one of his spirit-born sons. The Paradise Sons always have access to the presence of God, “the right hand of the Father,” and all of his creature personalities have access to the “bosom of the Father.” This refers to the personality circuit, whenever, wherever, and however contacted, or otherwise entails personal, self-conscious contact and communion with the Universal Father, whether at the central abode or at some other designated place, as on one of the seven sacred spheres of Paradise.
The divine presence cannot, however, be discovered anywhere in nature or even in the lives of God-knowing mortals so fully and so certainly as in your attempted communion with the indwelling Mystery Monitor, the Paradise Thought Adjuster. What a mistake to dream of God far off in the skies when the spirit of the Universal Father lives within your own mind!
The fact that you are not intellectually conscious of close and intimate contact with the indwelling Adjuster does not in the least disprove such an exalted experience. The proof of fraternity with the divine Adjuster consists wholly in the nature and extent of the fruits of the spirit which are yielded in the life experience of the individual believer. “By their fruits you shall know them.”~ a Divine Counselor hailing from Paradise

‘Difficult’ does not mean impossible. Difficult means we must try, seek and pursue Him within.

5:2.5 It is exceedingly difficult for the meagerly spiritualized, material mind of mortal man to experience marked consciousness of the spirit activities of such divine entities as the Paradise Adjusters. As the soul of joint mind and Adjuster creation [a growing entity on it’s own] becomes increasingly existent, there also evolves a new phase of soul consciousness which is capable of experiencing the presence, and of recognizing the spirit leadings and other supermaterial activities, of the Mystery Monitors.
5:2.6 The entire experience of Adjuster communion [actual private and personal attainment in worship] is one involving moral status, mental motivation, and spiritual experience. The self-realization of such an achievement is mainly, though not exclusively, limited to the realms of soul consciousness, but the proofs are forthcoming and abundant in the manifestation of the fruits of the spirit in the lives of all such inner-spirit contactors.[moral development in choosing that which IS moral and ethical]
And, this now brings us into the question of HOW God does this.
HOW does God work?
The way God works.
Allow us to recap what we have learned from our InWARd diagram located in ‘The Supreme Ideal’ section. This is the process that Father has created for us, and within us, in order for us to have the ability to spiritually grow [SOUL]. Let us go step by step – slowly.
Personality [YOU] has a thought => mind is engaged => Thought Adjuster may, or may not be considered => a decision is made [free will choice] => an action is taken, perhaps => the soul may, or may not grow from ‘goodness’ => emotions are engaged from said actions => habits may be forming [potentially solidifying] for the good or not so good => destiny may be emerging
God works from within and by His love.
WHEN one chooses to fully function as God has created them to spiritually operate within mind, therein begins the relationship of friendship with God = True Religion by direct contact. Basically – we have the ability to receive the feeling of His divine indwelling presence and we also can respond back to Him directly due to His own personality circuit coming from Paradise.
Father does His works by His love.
“All love is an energy that can heal or can be misused and an upset. Father feels the energy His mortal children return to Him. It is also true that you can, my mortal friends, also feel this energy, mentally and physically. It is a power which cannot be detected by the five senses, and yet, this love is more of a reality than what you can see or hear or touch. Love is the single most significant proof that God is. And this energy which flows through all living things is also to say, yes, God is moving through all living things. God is love, and love is moving through all living things.” ~ Abraham [Celestial Teachings 5.13.1996]
“Yes. Life is, and has been, full of challenges and tribulations, small and large. These opportunities are the natural out-workings whereby we meet some challenge and have our own free-will choices, decisions and actions to take. Depending upon our actions we will learn our lessons for growth. When you were a child were you offended by your loving parent who set boundaries for your protection and growth-inducing situations? But—what if you were allowed to run headlong into trouble with no loving supervision? Could you be hurt? Very likely, yes. Do we shake our fist at the thundering storm clouds and angrily stand in the torrential rain defying nature’s weather? If we are wise we do not, but we seek shelter from the storm until it passes. Father’s loving heart is to help us make better decisions by way of real-life moral and ethical choices. How else can we ever learn and spiritually grow? This is His way. This is His plan. This is our opportunity.” ~ Marin
By the gift of personality given to us by Father we may choose to reach up for Him. Father has already encircuited us.
16:9.14 You become conscious of man as your creature brother because you are already conscious of God as your Creator Father. Fatherhood is the relationship out of which we reason ourselves into the recognition of brotherhood. [We may choose to love ourselves or our fellows. On the other hand, we may choose to act upon our lower and less loving animal nature.]
The ministry of mind.
Mind is what we operate in [the ministry of our Mother Spirit, the 3rd Person of the Trinity] Within mind we think and choose what we will do. We may choose to be more like God [merciful and loving] or not.
0:6.8 Mind is a phenomenon [not a person] connoting the presence-activity of living ministry in addition to varied energy systems; and this is true on all levels of intelligence. In personality, mind ever intervenes between spirit and matter [InWARd]; therefore is the universe illuminated by three kinds of light: material light, intellectual insight, and spirit luminosity. [These ‘lights’ are discussed in the ‘Attainment’ section.]
God works within us by transcendent True Religion [friendship with God as our Thought Adjusters].
Will you recall a time in your life when you had an overwhelming desire for something or someone? I remember. The longing for a deeply true-love relationship with a life partner that would be equally yearning for this as well was incredibly strong. I wanted to be close with someone who I could trust, one who would be in love with me, not a selfish love based upon shallow physical attraction. I wanted to intimately connect with a person who could ‘go there’ with me because they would SEE ME for who I was on the INSIDE. And, I knew this would require a person with integrity, maturity, an understanding heart and one who I could feel SAFE and SECURE. It took me a long time to finally find this person. This kind of relationship has been the most satisfying, comforting and fulfilling relationship I have ever known with another human being. I needed this! Then, I read The Urantia Book and discovered WHO God really IS. This longing for Him drove me to seek Him within. He did not disappoint me. I learned of His VAST Personality as the loving Creator of all things everywhere. Yes. This is all true. However – all things changed for me when I discovered His tender love in private and real communion with Him. God became PERSONAL to me. Yes – He is majestic, but He became in reality – actual experience – the Lover of my soul, the Healer of my hurts, the gentle Guide of my purpose in my life. I now know that when I emotionally ‘sink’ in sadness all I have to do is pursue Him and simply wait for His deep solace and comfort knowing that spiritual growth is in sight. He never fails in this. Faith, trust and active pursuit of Him has provided a transcendent growth in strength to face the challenges in my life. This is His spiritual realm! He CAN be known and loved, and He loves me in return. God is generous in His love as He YEARNS for me even more than I long for Him. Father is as close as anyone can be for He is within. AND – He is within YOU! ~ Marin
5:1.2 It is, therefore, the limitations inherent in you, inseparable from your finite personality and material existence, that determine the time and place and circumstances in which you may achieve the goal of the journey of mortal ascension and stand in the presence of the Father at the center of all things.
“I wish to bring to your attention the loving personality of our Father and how it leads us to true worship.
Long ago when I walked the Earth, I worshiped Father out of a sense of duty. I worshiped Him so I would be pleasing in His eyes. I worshiped Father to find favor with Him. As time passed, I learned a new and different concept of the First Source and Center. With a little help from my friend Machiventa Melchizedek, now our mighty planetary prince, I learned of Father's generous attributes – slowly, through life experiences. And it occurred to me – His goodness draws me to Him; His kindness drives me to recognize Him.
In my recognition of Father, I am touched by His powerfulness, His magnificent over-control of this world, and the universes, and all that is. I am then drawn to worship and appreciate this loving Father who has so carefully guided me. Although the way has not been smooth, I am in the realization that this same Father who creates the universes dwells within my own being. As time goes by, I still stand in awe and wonder of the Father of the universes. Now, I realize the road Father had planned out for me is the best road. I wouldn't have taken any other as I look back.
My friends, I realize it is difficult in the material form to feel His closeness – Father's love, Father's concern. But I ask you to make an effort to recognize His loving watch-care over you. Recognize His closeness, His kindness, His concern for every living thing that contains soul. Stop a moment to ponder the greatness and grandeur of our loving Father who builds the universes, who hangs the stars at night.
Yes, I tell you boldly – this absolute personality of pure love and life-energy, fragments Himself and He dwells within you; His love for you is complete and pure; He truly needs nothing from you in return. But I tell you, the Father desires to know you, and for you to know Him. He desires for you to give Him back your love; and I say, the more you know our Father the easier it is to love Him. 5:1.3 Although the approach to the Paradise presence of the Father must await your attainment of the highest finite levels of spirit progression, you should rejoice in the recognition of the ever-present possibility of immediate communion with the bestowal spirit of the Father so intimately associated with your inner soul and your spiritualizing self.
THIS is Jesus’ highest spiritual concept – the Father Dominant and Transcendent in the hearts and minds of all believers! You might come to think upon God and learn things about Him. But no knowledge about the fact of God can take you into the personal experience and presence OF Him. This only happens when we pursue Him as one who longs for an abiding friendship with Him in His spiritual realm in us. His love is LIVING. His love is FLOWING. God is TRANSCENDENT.
THIS is True Religion and He works in it!

When Jesus gave us The Lord’s Prayer He was telling us that our prayers to our Father are immediately registered in Paradise in the present! Therefore, we can now comprehend that our thoughts, prayers and worship go instantaneously to our Father in Paradise by way of His Personality circuit [Remember: God is a PERSON]. Your indwelling Thought Adjuster is a very long finger of God originating in Paradise RIGHT NOW and It’s end-point is affixed inside your head.

IS means ‘NOW’ – present. Do you recognize that you have something OF Paradise living within you right now? God is far-off in a material sense in that He lives in Paradise, an actual location a great distance from us. But in His spiritual realm there is no distance! No time. No space. No expanse between you and Him in His spiritual realm.
I have looked into the starry night sky and wondered how the stars and planets just hang in space? How is this done? Is there some invisible force that does this? We do not – cannot know. How do little kittens come out of their mother and begin to breathe, know to crawl to a nipple and begin to nurse? And this happens over and over again. How do they know how to do this? Some explain it is instinct. And this is true. But where does this instinct come from? When I read The Urantia Book I learned about pattern. God has created patterns of His created beings. We cannot know how He has done this, but we can certainly see it. The same is true for our personalities. What makes ‘you’ YOU? Your personality is not mind, nor is it conditioning from childhood. Personality comes before environmental conditioning! YOU were born with your own unique, individual and adorable personality as a gift from God in Paradise. In fact, your personality’s origin IS Paradise, as is your Thought Adjuster’s origin IS Paradise. How does God give us this personality that is not mind, body but it IS spirit. No one knows but God Himself. And His love for YOUR personality is so great that He encircuits your personality with His love. Father’s goal is to bring you back home to Him in Paradise as you work, seek, pursue and diligently develop your friendship with Him, one step, one day and one good and moral free will choice at a time. Father responds to us as we reach up to Him. If we allow Him – He helps us.
16:8.19 The full function of such a personality endowment is the beginning realization of Deity kinship [affinity, connection and association]. Such a selfhood, indwelt by a prepersonal fragment of God the Father, is in truth and in fact a spiritual son of God. Such a creature not only discloses capacity for the reception of the gift of the divine presence but also exhibits reactive response to the personality-gravity circuit of the Paradise Father of all personalities.
This relationship begins by personality – His gift from Paradise. Then, by our indwelling Thought Adjusters – direct and personal God fragments who are betrothed to us in our minds, He works with us. Also, by the spirit of Jesus, our indwelling Spirit of Truth, our Master Creator Son, revealing and showing us the character and nature of God. They both ARE GOD.
God will adjust us for the better – the good – even the best, if we choose this.

3:2.5 The omnipotence [all-powerful] of the Father pertains to the everywhere dominance of the absolute level, whereon the three energies, material, mind-al, and spiritual, are indistinguishable in close proximity to him — the Source of all things... God adjusts with the mind of imperfection — with Urantia mortals through the Thought Adjusters.

Example: Jesus was a frugal ‘eater’. Jesus’ human personality chose to limit His food intake. This is healthy. Food can be related to money. If we want something NOW and spend that money NOW we can create a future hardship for us due to the fact that we did not limit our use of our finances NOW, and so it may not be there to meet the need of some future problem creating hardship for ourselves. Thus, deferring our immediate gratification [savings] produces a sense of security [peace] for the unknown future.
Example: Continually consuming, with unbridled and unhealthy food habits, will likely produce health problems later. Hence, frugal consumption creates healthy results.
RESTRICTION IS FREEDOM. LICENSE IS BONDAGE.
God’s ‘adjustments’ within our minds and driven by our personality choices are not hurtful, they are helpful = GOOD for us, in our living.
Example continued: Going on a food ‘diet’ in order to reduce our weight produces a plethora of blessings physically. This is a material manifestation. Attainment of His spiritual intake by way of quiet reflection [stillness practice] with our personalities enhances His ability to HELP us live better lives with His adjustments in our minds. This becomes His leadership within us. Spiritual attainment is health inducing in every aspect of our lives. He ‘transcends’ our previous problems with His new adjustments, powered by His spirit, that we previously could not see. He then gives us the ‘personality power’ to overcome. In this way we are accruing personality credits.
God wants us to f e e l His presence. However, He waits for our diligent pursuit of Him.
3:4.6 Mortal man cannot possibly know the infinitude of the heavenly Father. Finite mind cannot think through such an absolute truth or fact. But this same finite human being can actually feel — literally experience — the full and undiminished impact of such an infinite Father’s LOVE. Such a love can be truly experienced, albeit while quality of experience is unlimited, quantity of such an experience is strictly limited by the human capacity for spiritual receptivity and by the associated capacity to love the Father in return.
155:6.2 “You must cease to seek for the word of God only on the pages of the olden records of theologic authority. Those who are born of the spirit of God shall henceforth discern the word of God regardless of whence it appears to take origin. Divine truth must not be discounted because the channel of its bestowal is apparently human. Many of your brethren have minds which accept the theory [idea or concept] of God while they spiritually fail to realize the presence of God.” ~ Jesus
He makes our souls grow
5:5.13 Eternal survival of personality is wholly dependent on the choosing of the mortal mind, whose decisions determine the survival potential of the immortal soul. When the mind believes God and the soul knows God, and when, with the fostering Adjuster, they all desire God, then is survival assured. Limitations of intellect, curtailment of education, deprivation of culture, impoverishment of social status, even inferiority of the human standards of morality resulting from the unfortunate lack of educational, cultural, and social advantages, cannot invalidate the presence of the divine spirit in such unfortunate and humanly handicapped but believing individuals. The indwelling of the Mystery Monitor [Thought Adjuster] constitutes the inception and insures the possibility of the potential of growth and survival of the immortal SOUL [eternal life].
God [our indwelling Thought Adjuster, a fragment OF Him] waits for our powerful free will choice-decisions. Our Thought Adjusters develop new ways, as They reach down to us and we reach up to Him, to effect our soul-enhancing higher spiritual levels. At some point in our soul growth it begins to grow and act on it’s own. [This is demonstrated in actual experience – asleep and AWAKE!

17:3.6 Mortal man, being a creature, is not exactly like the Supreme Being, who is deity, but man's evolution does in some ways resemble the growth of the Supreme. Man consciously grows from the material toward the spiritual by the strength, power, and persist-ency of his own decisions; he also grows as his Thought Adjuster develops new techniques for reaching down from the spiritual to the morontial soul levels; and once the soul comes into being, it begins to grow in and of itself.
Thought Adjusters and personalities never change. We can become INDESTRUCTIBLE!

112:0.5 Personality may survive mortal death with identity in the surviving soul. The Adjuster and the personality are changeless; the relationship between them (in the soul) is nothing but change, continuing evolution.
Soul Powers
Do not miss the caveats here!!! Our Teachers are telling us what CAN happen, if we so choose and then act upon. We have the personality-powers to ask for our adjusters to cause us/our souls to function ABOVE the morontial level [our next phase of existence after this life in the flesh has run it’s course] NOW. Our personalities can also delegate by our mind’s authority, freely and willingly, to authorize our souls to make our best final decision-choices during this life. Friends – THIS IS HUGE!
111:3.2 During the life in the flesh the evolving soul is enabled to reinforce the supermaterial decisions of the mortal mind [Remember: Personality Drives Mind]. The soul, being supermaterial, does not of itself function on the material level of human experience. Neither can this subspiritual soul, without the collaboration of some spirit of Deity, such as the Adjuster [of which we all have], function above the morontia level [but it CAN WITH our TAs help!]. Neither does the soul make final decisions until death or translation [Fusion] divorces it from material association with the mortal mind EXCEPT when and as this material mind delegates such authority freely and willingly to such a morontia soul of associated function. During life the mortal will, the personality power of decision-choice, is resident in the material mind circuits; as terrestrial mortal growth proceeds, this self [personality], with its priceless powers of choice, becomes increasingly identified with the emerging morontia-soul entity; after death and following the mansion world resurrection, the human personality is completely identified with the morontia self. The soul is thus the embryo of the future morontia vehicle of personality identity.

Let us now flip this passage around and restate it in positive terms of what CAN happen.
During our current human-mortal life our souls have been enabled by God to reinforce the superhuman decisions of our minds. Our souls, being super-material, do not work on a purely physical level in our human experience. However, our souls can function above even the morontia level if we request the help and direction from our indwelling Thought Adjusters [faith is required]. Normally, our souls do not make any final decisions until our material bodies have stopped working altogether and it is set free from the confines of our mind, held within our brains = death. However, when our personality-powers [our will] are engaged and operating in driving our minds to make the highest decisions we can delegate [talk to and instruct] authority freely and willingly to our own souls to make our better decisions for us, in this life [This is an experiential manifestation and demonstration – we can physically feel this soul expression. This writer does experience this]. We do not have to wait for death. If we do this – AS we do this—we will grow and grow spiritually to the point that our personality-self will increasingly become identified with our emerging MORONTIA-SOUL ENTITY! Later on and after our morontia life is completed we will continually do this – furthering the identification and growth of our souls. The point is – we do not have to wait for this kind of spiritual development and progression. Why in the world would we want to put this off for later when we can do this NOW?

133:6.5-7 “The soul is the self-reflective, truth-discerning, and spirit-perceiving part of man which forever elevates the human being above the level of the animal world. Self-consciousness, in and of itself, is not the soul. Moral self-consciousness is true human self-realization and constitutes the foundation of the human soul, and the soul is that part of man which represents the potential survival value of human experience. Moral choice and spiritual attainment, the ability to know God and the urge to be like him, are the characteristics of the soul. The soul of man cannot exist apart from moral thinking and spiritual activity. A stagnant soul is a dying soul. But the soul of man is distinct from the divine spirit which dwells within the mind. The divine spirit arrives simultaneously with the first moral activity of the human mind, and that is the occasion of the birth of the soul.

The saving or losing of a soul has to do with whether or not the moral consciousness attains survival status through eternal alliance with its associated immortal spirit endowment. Salvation is the spiritualization of the self-realization of the moral consciousness, which thereby becomes possessed of survival value. All forms of soul conflict consist in the lack of harmony between the moral, or spiritual, self-consciousness and the purely intellectual self-consciousness.

The human soul, when matured, ennobled, and spiritualized, approaches the heavenly status in that it comes near to being an entity intervening between the material and the spiritual, the material self and the divine spirit. The evolving soul of a human being is difficult of description and more difficult of demonstration because it is not discoverable by the methods of either material investigation or spiritual proving. Material science cannot demonstrate the existence of a soul, neither can pure spirit-testing. Notwithstanding the failure of both material science and spiritual standards to discover the existence of the human soul, every morally conscious mortal knows of the existence of his soul as a real and actual personal experience.”

This is WHAT God does by allowing us to choose in the midst of challenges.
How does God do these things?
4:3.6 The infinite goodness of the Father is beyond the comprehension of the finite mind of time; hence must there always be afforded a contrast with comparative evil (not sin) for the effective exhibition of all phases of relative goodness. Perfection of divine goodness can be discerned by mortal imperfection of insight only because it stands in contrastive association with relative imperfection in the relationships of time and matter in the motions of space.

3:5.5 The uncertainties of life and the vicissitudes of existence do not in any manner contradict the concept of the universal sovereignty of God. All evolutionary creature life is beset by certain inevitabilities. Consider the following:

“You can recognize the results of love and non-love – I say not ‘hatred’ because non-love is more of a reality than the negative force of hatred.
A farmer knows the beginnings of a field's first sprouts. We, my friends, are seeing these sprouts and knowing Christ Michael is among us. A good farmer sows his seeds with humble beginnings. The farmer must toil diligently within the soil to prepare for planting. The good farmer plants his field in the hope that it may feed many. He can foresee the results of a job well done. He can rely upon his own capabilities to feed many.
A farmer who sows seeds of non-love in the earth does so in the hope that he will bear enough vegetation to supply him for the entire winter. He tends to the new growth with the hope that the crows will not steal his vegetation. He protects and hordes his crop for fear he may be left empty-handed.
The good farmer reaps his harvest with more than he expected; he feeds many and his yield seems to not empty; his crop continues to bear more, and the farmer continues to feed more. This farmer is filled with such joy to know he is truly cared for and, that his good works go far. The good farmer reaps his joy from the giving. He worries not that his crop will wither and die. He is knowing many are depending upon the benefits from his fine produce.
Conversely, that farmer who has sown seeds of selfishness (non-love) has much anxiety over the guarding of his vegetation; he is fear-ridden that the garden will be unproductive; his mind is always working to find a solution to saving his field for fear he may be left lacking in the winter. This farmer is so fatigued with attempting to protect what he believes is his own, he is left with feelings of emptiness. He has not much of a crop and he must hold tight for fear he may lose what he has grown. This farmer knows not the joy of feeding others, reaping the benefits of bestowing love; he is in a cycle of fear; he is living in a mode of self-preservation – and this mode, is quite lonely.
And so it goes with love. To sow the seeds of love is to reap the harvest of honor for having been trusted by our Father. To feed others with the seeds you have sown is the highest honor and privilege one can receive. To hold back the fruits from which you so freely received is to witness those fruits to deteriorate. To put your love in a storehouse for fear you may need it someday is to be severed from that pure energy we call love. Love is moving, healing, and transcending all things. Love is living.
I ask that you look within and attempt to understand what type of seeds do you sow; and, are you willing to share the harvest openly with those who you know?” ~ Abraham [Celestial Teachings 5.13.1996]
3:5.7 2. Is altruism — service of one’s fellows — desirable? Then must life experience provide for
encountering situations of social inequality.
If we had all things that we ever desired would we know what it is to hope for something?

3:5.8 3. Is hope — the grandeur of trust — desirable? Then human existence must constantly be confronted with insecurities and recurrent uncertainties.

To follow up on the faith and hope issue: It seems that if we are in immediate contact with the indwelling Spirit that neither hope nor faith would be necessary; it would be living in the eternal now without the requirement of having those two elements of desire present.

3:5.10 5. Is the love of truth and the willingness to go wherever it leads, desirable? Then must man grow up in a world where error is present and falsehood always possible.
Is idealism desirable?

Of interest, our modern-day definition of ‘divine’ is inaccurate in terms that it does not allow for the true meaning. Here is what we now know:

O: 5.9 Spirit. The divine spirit that indwells the mind of man — the Thought Adjuster. [And we know that this is God Himself who indwells us.]

God has created us with an indwelling fragment of His own divine being who has betrothed Himself to us for the duration of our life in the flesh. This God fragment is ever beckoning us to become more and better than we are today. This can only happen by our free will choices to decide to act upon what we know, or think, is better – best – GOOD. Without this free choice how can we ever grow into ‘more’. We are not robots programmed to say or act only as our programming dictates. This is the beauty of our Father’s way of things. When faced with what is less than, less ideal, lousy and animal-like we have the ability to use our powers of personality and to choose those things that will make us better – GOOD – like God Himself. He stimulates us to reach for better things. This is how He works.

3:5.11 6. Is idealism — the approaching concept of the divine — desirable? Then must man struggle in an environment of relative goodness and beauty, surroundings stimulative of the irrepressible reach for better things.
Is loyalty desireable?
​
Loyalty implies a faithfulness that is steadfast in the face of any temptation to renounce, desert, or betray. A strict and continuing faithfulness to an obligation, trust, or duty.
“Michael's Spirit of Truth enables us to act with a natural spiritual instinct. Upon receiving, your indwelling Monitors begins an increasing understanding of spiritual instincts; the knowledge of right and wrong becomes an internal feeling; the desire to do good becomes apparent; the urge to be perfect as our Father is perfect, is also there. Throughout your spiritual journeys, your instincts have certainly been sharpened which enables you to feel comfort in going forth to act them out.
The beloved apostle Simon Peter, who loved Jesus with all his heart, still found within himself to allow fear and confusion to overtake him – even to deny his Master in those moments before Jesus’ arrest and trial. Peter's mind was somewhat spiritually knowledgeable – yes, and yet he lacked the courage and maturity to acknowledge his loyalty to the Master, when confronted.
We all can understand Peter in his spiritual education; even with such human faults we do not love him less, no. We can receive understanding that even those who were daily with the Master found their humanness to be overpowering. The Master did not rebuke Peter for his weakness, no, but found this an opportune time to teach him.
The Master's love always remains the same for all His children. Not one could lessen His love for them. Our Brother/Father Michael knows we are every day striving to gain maturity in our spiritual thinking; He certainly knows our weaknesses and strengths and does use our moments of error to teach us spiritual values.” ~ Abraham 9.21.1998 Celestial Teachings

3:5.12 7. Is loyalty — devotion to highest duty — desirable? Then must man carry on amid the possibilities of betrayal and desertion. The valor of devotion to duty consists in the implied danger of default.

True Love vs. self love
“To love another should firstly be ‘because they are a child of God,’ not someone you can possess or rule over. When not loving another ‘as a child of God,’ this can be devastating in the fact that they are trying to have ownership over another, and this leads into the area of self-love – an over-amount of self-love [selfishness]. Love, in all its definitions, is still not fully definable. Love is ever-growing and changing. It is the individual that learns about both sides of the sword, and one way or another all mortals will experience this sword.”

3:5.13 8. Is unselfishness — the spirit of self-forgetfulness — desirable? Then must mortal man live face to face with the incessant clamoring of an inescapable self for recognition and honor. Man could not dynamically choose the divine life if there were no self-life to forsake. Man could never lay saving hold on righteousness if there were no potential evil to exalt and differentiate the good by contrast.
“In our youth, we believe that all things are possible. As we are maturing, we often think ‘life is not as it should be.’ However, my friends, I have witnessed many of your fellow elders who have lived a whole life and expressed that ‘life was as it should have been.’ Your elders did not reach that conclusion with ease, no; time and experience in ‘drinking the cup’ brought them to believe that life is not only about good and bad, but how you can personally endure while upholding your fellows.
My student/friend with cancer, who has chosen to drink the cup with grace, has made his journey through illness somewhat easier. In his ministrations to others, he finds his mind free from self, free from the consciousness of pain and fear of loss. In his decision to go with Father's will he is receiving heightened spiritual assistance. He has chosen to not dwell upon self but to take this mortal challenge and do his utmost for his Father in heaven.
When my friend chooses to heal, he feels healed. When he chooses to give hope, he is hope-filled. When he acts as a light from God, God shines back upon him. That is spiritual strength and endurance.
Choosing to experience the whole Urantian adventure comes complete with both joy and despair. Be not surprised when adversity befalls you. Choose to take challenge as an opportunity to be a light from God. In adversity, we find what really matters; we find how important love is, and how unimportant deadlines are; we find money to be useless, and family and friends to be priceless. In adversity we find God; we feel the realness of our mortal path.
Should my student/friend suffering from cancer have chosen to be beaten by his illness he would not have felt those moments of closeness with Father; he would have spread hopelessness and received hopelessness. Had he chosen to blame others for his illness he would have only stirred within him the spirit poisons. Had he chosen to seek sympathy for his plight he would have become weaker and susceptible to more pain and difficulties. Had he chosen not to be a light from God he most definitely could not feel the light of God shining upon him, yes.
This week look at your adversities to be an opportunity to be a light from God. Heal and be healed; love and be loved; shine and be shined upon.”

3:5.14 9. Is pleasure — the satisfaction of happiness — desirable? Then must man live in a world where the alternative of pain and the likelihood of suffering are ever-present experiential possibilities.
Why so much adversity in our lives? Is this really our Father’s only way?
“This is a broad question, so I answer in broad terms. Adversity creates (or rather requires) a reaction. This reaction builds strength and stamina in character. Each person experiences adversity for this purpose. If life were easy and blissful, hard decisions would not be required to be made. These essential decisions must be made in order for there to be soul strengthening. In the parable of the Sower, we see that some seeds sprout readily and grow tall quickly, soon to be withered in the sun, not having the requisite strength (fortitude) to withstand vicissitude. Each person is like a plant. It is the good Gardener (the Thought Adjuster) who directs the tilling of your soil, the fertilization of your roots, the rain to fall, the wind to blow, the sun to shine; all this is done through the action of the angels, among others. Our good Father sees to it that His beloved child receives what is needful for the best growth of his soul. Adversity, even calamity, can be part of the nurturing process. The blessing of these seeming calamities may only be seen through hindsight and are not apparent to the growing seed/child. The good parent ensures proper medicine for any illness. As well, proper exercise to grow and to maintain robust health. Each child requires differing remedies and different exercise. By 'exercise' I am referring to robust life activity – mentally and physically. In order to meet the challenges of life, each person must have experienced a certain hardship factor. And in the knowing that past hardships have been overcome, strengthens the mind and soul for future hardship (or mind conflict) which also must be grappled with. This 'can do' attitude is important and cannot develop further without having already done. Therefore, adversity, small and great, befalls us all and must be overcome and grappled with individually in order to build a strong and reliable soul.” ~ Abraham [6.6.1991 Celestial Teachings]
We have the ability to make spiritual contact with superhuman and powerful sources!
100:6.3 The marks of human response to the religious impulse [desiring friendship with God] embrace the qualities of nobility and grandeur.
God works within as we choose Him to be our source of truth.
Antecedent causation is un-real.
Antecedent causation refers to the relationship where one event (the antecedent, what is prior) causes another event to occur. It emphasizes the idea that a preceding condition or event leads to a subsequent effect or outcome.
In our Father’s spiritual realm there is no material prior event/s that can hold anyone back from His love, personal relationship or spiritual growth. Man’s bondage-of-thinking in terms of what he has been told to him previously MUST be his outcome/s has been set free in liberation by God Himself. Let go of any preconceived notions of what any mortal human has told you must be true. Our Father is absolutely considerate and respecting of our mortal human free will. He will stand aside – waiting – for you to choose whatever it is that you so desire and believe to be ‘truth’.
5:6.8 Having thus provided for the growth of the immortal soul and having liberated man’s inner self from the fetters of absolute dependence on antecedent causation, the Father stands aside. Now, man having thus been liberated from the fetters of causation response [previously dictated by some human of equal mortal status with all others – NO HUMAN HIERARCHY], at least as pertains to eternal destiny, and provision having been made for the growth of the immortal self, the soul, it remains for man himself to will the creation or to inhibit the creation of this surviving and eternal self which is his for the choosing. No other being, force, creator, or agency in all the wide universe of universes can interfere to any degree with the absolute sovereignty of the mortal free will, as it operates within the realms of choice, regarding the eternal destiny of the personality of the choosing mortal. As pertains to eternal survival, God has decreed the sovereignty of the material and mortal will, and that decree is ABSOLUTE.
We are ALL indwelt by the SAME Spirit of God. We may all be different in many ways but God’s spirit within each of us is EXACTLY the same!
5:1.4 The mortals of the realms of time and space may differ greatly in innate abilities and intellectual endowment, they may enjoy environments exceptionally favorable to social advancement and moral progress, or they may suffer from the lack of almost every human aid to culture and supposed advancement in the arts of civilization; but the possibilities for spiritual progress in the ascension career are equal to all; increasing levels of spiritual insight and cosmic meanings are attained quite independently of all such sociomoral differentials of the diversified material environments on the evolutionary worlds.
140:5.8 “Happy are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” ~ Jesus
Only those who feel poor in spirit will ever hunger for righteousness. Only the humble seek for divine strength and crave spiritual power.
5:1.5 However Urantia mortals may differ in their intellectual, social, economic, and even moral opportunities and endowments, forget not that their spiritual endowment is uniform and unique. They all enjoy the same divine presence of the gift from the Father, and they are all equally privileged to seek intimate personal communion with this indwelling spirit of divine origin, while they may all equally choose to accept the uniform spiritual leading of these Mystery Monitors [indwelling Thought Adjusters – His tendrils of Himself placed within our minds].
This is HOW God works. God is the same Person within the rich or poor, the young the older, the male or female. His Person within is the same for ALL.
Communication between your indwelling God fragment and your surrounding Seraphim.
We all are watched over by Father’s angels. Although our Seraphim do not read our minds as they do not indwell us as Father does, they do somehow communicate with Him in terms of how we are doing in our spiritual progression. Father works from within. Seraphim work from without. They work together with Him in perfect unity. These are our loving guides and they network our steps – they GUIDE our steps as they hope for us to make those free will choices that will be moral, ethical, good and truly in line with our Father’s will. They are our truest EVER friends, for they have been with us from our beginning. We find this incredibly comforting. We are DEARLY LOVED!
Our destiny.
We might spend much of our time attempting to make for ourselves a better life in terms of material comfort, relational successes and physical betterment. How much time do we ponder upon our ultimate destiny? our eternal future? our spiritual careers in the long, long timeline?
2:2.5 God's primal perfection consists not in an assumed righteousness but rather in the inherent perfection of the goodness of his divine nature. He is final, complete, and perfect. There is no thing lacking in the beauty and perfection of his righteous character. And the whole scheme of living existences on the worlds of space is centered in the divine purpose of elevating all will creatures to the high destiny of the experience of sharing the Father's Paradise perfection [His spiritual realm]. God is neither self-centered nor self-contained; he never ceases to bestow himself upon all self-conscious creatures of the vast universe of universes.
I do not claim to really know much at all about the Ultimate or the Absolute differentiations of God. But—I do know a fair amount about the path to successfully pursuing attainment with Him here and now in my life. I know that if I persistently practice this long enough and with my whole heart engaged I WILL attain oneness with Him [FUSION] at some point. This is a part of WHAT God does. This is important enough to me to invest time and energy on a daily basis. I have assurance that this will happen! ~ Marin
5:6.5 The Adjusters of pre-personal status indwell numerous types of mortal creatures, thus insuring that these same beings may survive mortal death to personalize as morontia creatures with the potential of ultimate spirit attainment [FUSION, oneness with God]. For, when such a creature mind of personality endowment is indwelt by a fragment of the spirit of the eternal God, the pre-personal bestowal of the personal Father, then does this finite personality possess the potential of the divine and the eternal and aspire to a destiny akin to the Ultimate, even reaching out for a realization of the Absolute.

By resurrection after death or fusion.
Your resurrection in your next life occurs once this life in the flesh has run it’s course.
And here is GOOD NEWS FOR US ALL! Basically, all that is REAL within us—that which is good—is retained and absolutely, unfailingly entrusted and KEPT by our angels. This is a part of their jobs in service to Father. Once we are through here on our nativity world, once this life in the flesh has run it’s course, the angels take our soul – the ACTUAL entity of ourselves and deliver us to our appointed location. Our Father [Thought Adjusters] forever holds within Him all of our mind transcripts from our life along with our identity potentials. These are HIS forever more. After a short time, of which we will never be aware of, we will be reassembled on our next world. We are provided a new and slightly more spiritual body [still somewhat material – this is called ‘morontia’] and we then wake up to continue right where we left off in terms of our spiritual progression. I am an avid fan of the movie ‘Avatar’. If you have seen this movie you may gather some idea of how this may occur. We will literally be placed into our new bodies and our personalities and souls are inserted. This is a great mystery to us! How is this done??? We have no clue at this point. We simply KNOW it happens!!!
47:3.3 The mortal-mind transcripts and the active creature-memory patterns as transformed from the material levels to the spiritual are the individual possession of the detached Thought Adjusters; these spiritized factors of mind, memory, and creature personality are forever a part of such Adjusters. The creature mind-matrix and the passive potentials of identity are present in the morontia soul entrusted to the keeping of the seraphic destiny guardians. And it is the reuniting of the morontia-soul trust of the seraphim and the spirit-mind trust of the Adjuster that reassembles creature personality and constitutes resurrection of a sleeping survivor.
FUSION – Our Goal!

Synonyms: aim, intention, plan, ambition, aspiration, target, hope, desire, plot, DESTINATION!
55:2.1 Natural, physical death is not a mortal inevitability. The majority of advanced evolutionary beings, citizens on worlds existing in the final era of light and life, do not die; they are translated directly from the life in the flesh to the morontia existence.
55:2.2 At first only a few mortals in each age attain translation levels of spiritual progress, but with the onset of the successive ages of the Teacher Sons [we will be honored to have this incredible Person in our world sometime, sooner than later], more and more Adjuster fusions occur before the termination of the lengthening lives of these progressing mortals; and by the time of the terminal mission of the Teacher Sons, approximately one quarter of these superb mortals are exempt from natural death.

There is no pain involved in fusion. Translation is instantaneous!
WE have records of Enoch and Elijah who translated, fused off of this world in seemingly ‘chariots of fire’. Elisha, Elijah’s friend and student was witness to this exhilarating event, for in that time there was no way for pictures or videos to be taken. But Elisha could give eye-witness testimony. And, so he did.
110:7.2 When a human being has completed the circles of cosmic achievement, and further, when the final choosing of the mortal will permits the Adjuster to complete the association of human identity with the morontial soul during evolutionary and physical life, then do such consummated liaisons of soul and Adjuster go on independently to the mansion worlds, and there is issued the mandate from Uversa which provides for the immediate fusion of the Adjuster and the morontial soul.
In learning of our fellows who experience fusion with God we should be incredibly infused with more faith, more hope and more assurance that ALL OF WHAT IS FOUND IN THE URANTIA BOOK IS
REAL, SOLID AND ABSOLUTELY TRUE!

55:2.6 The souls of these progressing mortals are increasingly filled with faith, hope, and assurance. The spirit permeating those gathered around the translation shrine resembles that of the joyful friends and relatives who might assemble at a graduating exercise for one of their group, or who might come together to witness the conferring of some great honor upon one of their number. And it would be decidedly helpful if less advanced mortals could only learn to view natural death with something of this same cheerfulness and lightheartedness.
55:2.7 Mortal observers can see nothing of their translated associates subsequent to the fusion flash. Such translated souls proceed by Adjuster transit direct to the resurrection hall of the appropriate morontia-training world. These transactions concerned with the translation of living human beings to the morontia world are supervised by an archangel who was assigned to such a world on the day when it was first settled in light and life.

WHY does God work like this?
What God has created simply IS. Because our Father loves us, He wants to enjoy watching us spiritually grow. True religious experience with our Father in friendship brings us great fulfillment and a transcendent awareness of the fact that we know we now have higher thoughts, greater desires for doing what is right and good and we are coming to truly KNOW our Father in all the ways that He expresses Himself to us. 5:5.7 – 10 Mortal man secures three great satisfactions from religious experience, even in the days of his temporal sojourn on earth:

1. Intellectually he acquires the satisfactions of a more unified human consciousness.
2. Philosophically he enjoys the substantiation of his ideals of moral values.
3. Spiritually he thrives in the experience of divine companionship, in the spiritual satisfactions of true worship.
Allow us to define these terms and apply them spiritually:

Unify as a verb means to make into a coherent whole. We know coherent means to ‘stick together’, to adhere to something. So – God finds satisfaction for Himself when He witnesses us pursuing Him within our minds and then HE causes us to become more organized in our thinking, to enjoy more clarity of comprehension and to become integrated into His spiritual insight with His transcendent and higher intellectual thoughts [we ‘stick to’ Him within]. Suffice to say; God will make you smarter! This brings us a highly satisfying confidence!

WE UNIFY WITH HIM AND BECOME STRONGER!
​
Substantiation as a verb means to give substance or form; to verify by competent evidence something that was previously unverified. Our Father does this by way of your personal spiritual experience in the ability to spiritually ‘see’ what you could not see before. In the spiritual realm the only proof you need of this is your own experience; as no one else can prove or disprove this. So, we stand upon His competent and personal demonstration of His higher ideals and morals [philosophy] as given to us as a result of our spiritual intake of Him within. In our hearts we have become stronger – more solid in our convictions for we now know what is right. Not just what might be better, but we now know what is BEST!

Companionship as a noun simply means fellowship, friendship and intimacy. God wants to enjoy camaraderie with YOU! He wants to be your friend. You gain and prosper as you progress toward His realized goal for you despite ANY circumstance you may find yourself in. 26:5.3 That, then, is the primary or elementary course which confronts the faith-tested and much-traveled pilgrims of space. But long before reaching Havona, these ascendant children of time have learned to feast upon uncertainty, to fatten upon disappointment, to enthuse over apparent defeat, to invigorate in the presence of difficulties, to exhibit indomitable courage in the face of immensity, and to exercise unconquerable faith when confronted with the challenge of the inexplicable. Long since, the battle cry of these pilgrims became: "In liaison with God, nothing — absolutely nothing — is impossible."
Paper 48 - The Morontia Life
[Jesus has sanctioned for us 606ers to have this Morontia Life in the earliest of stages NOW. We do not have to wait.]

48:0.1 THE Gods cannot — at least they do not — transform a creature of gross animal nature into a perfected spirit by some mysterious act of creative magic. When the Creators desire to produce perfect beings, they do so by direct and original creation, but they never undertake to convert animal-origin and material creatures [us] into beings of perfection in a single step.

If we are to become those rare Finaliters [14:6.39], those agondonters with unstoppable personalities considered to be invincible then we must work with effort through the struggles we face. Conflicts resulting from life on the lowest level of human experience, when faced with God, will produce within us spiritual qualities that show forth God’s will; that which is good as He is good. Conflict, effort and struggles are our ‘gifts’ in order to forge within us ALL that God intends for us to become as a result of our free will choices.
48:0.2 The morontia life, extending as it does over the various stages of the local universe career, is the only possible approach whereby material mortals could attain the threshold of the spirit world. What magic could death, the natural dissolution of the material body, hold that such a simple step should instantly transform the mortal and material mind into an immortal and perfected spirit? Such beliefs are but ignorant superstitions and pleasing fables.
Jesus is allowing us the opportunity to attain the experience of the ‘threshold of the spirit world’ NOW. We must accept the fact of what we are, what God has ordained for us. We are Finaliter-potentials! Once we understand that we cannot subvert what He has created. Currently we ARE lowly humans. We are not perfect beings. However, we have everything we need from Him in order to BECOME perfected beings by way of these very struggles, and in these as we move through them we grow into all that He knows we can be.

48:0.3 Always this morontia transition intervenes between the mortal estate and the subsequent spirit status of surviving human beings. This intermediate state of universe progress differs markedly in the various local creations, but in intent and purpose they are all quite similar. The arrangement of the mansion and higher morontia worlds in Nebadon is fairly typical of the morontia transition regimes in this part of Orvonton.

From the beginning of my sojourn as one of you, I taught you that my one purpose was to reveal my Father in heaven to his children on earth. I have lived the God-revealing bestowal that you might experience the God-knowing career. I have revealed God as your Father in heaven; I have revealed you as the sons of God on earth. It is a fact that God loves you, his sons. By faith in my word this fact becomes an eternal and living truth in your hearts. When, by living faith, you become divinely God-conscious, you are then born of the spirit as children of light and life, even the eternal life wherewith you shall ascend the universe of universes and attain the experience of finding God the Father on Paradise.” ~ Jesus
Light and Life within you.
Via attainment practice you will allow God to dominate, transform and transcend your mind—the way you think. He wants you to begin to ‘think with Him’ and not just about Him. When you achieve this you are in light and life, everywhere you go and with loving everyone you meet. As we all do this knowing God is within us and we share this amazing experience we are helping our world to achieve light and life one day and you are also contributing to the Supreme. Your personal spiritual career will become what God wants it to be. This will bring Him, Jesus, our Sovereign Michael, and your personal seraphim, and everyone else, GREAT JOY!
He wants to bring us home to Paradise.
5:5.11 God-consciousness, as it is experienced by an evolving mortal of the realms, must consist of three varying factors, three differential levels of reality realization. There is first the mind consciousness — the comprehension of the idea of God. Then follows the soul consciousness — the realization of the ideal of God. Last, dawns the spirit consciousness — the realization of the spirit reality of God. By the unification of these factors [mind, soul and spirit] of the divine realization, no matter how incomplete, the mortal personality at all times overspreads all conscious levels with a realization of the personality of God. In those mortals who have attained the Corps of the Finality [in Paradise] all this will in time lead to the realization of the supremacy of God and may subsequently eventuate in the realization of the ultimacy of God, some phase of the absonite superconsciousness of the Paradise Father.

At some point in this spiritual career of yours, here on Urantia, you may want to consider reading the first 5 papers of our book. These papers will describe for you who our Paradise Father is. This language is quite ‘high’. It took me many times reading these papers to gain, bit by bit, more of the comprehension of who our amazing Father truly is.

This was, and is, true for me.
5:4.1 The morality of the religions of evolution drives men forward in the God quest by the motive power of fear. The religions of revelation allure men to seek for a God of love because they crave to become like him. But religion is not merely a passive feeling of “absolute dependence” and “surety of survival”; it is a living and dynamic experience of divinity attainment predicated on humanity service.
Victorious living
4:4.9 The consciousness of a victorious human life on earth is born of that creature faith which dares to challenge each recurring episode of existence when confronted with the awful spectacle of human limitations, by the unfailing declaration: Even if I cannot do this, there lives in me one who can and will do it, a part of the Father-Absolute of the universe of universes. And that is “the victory which overcomes the world, even your faith. [~ Jesus]”
Yes – we long to be in Paradise where our Father, our great source and center of all things, resides. But we are not ready for this, not today. We have a long, long journey to Paradise, to our Father’s immediate presence. If we were to be there today we would see nothing. It would be as if we were blind, deaf and mute. We must work to “become perfect, even as our Father in heaven is perfect.” However, as we continue day by day to defer to our indwelling Father-presence by way of His spirit tendril living in our minds and hearts we begin to see the wisdom of the way God works. Years ago, when I began this process, I slowly began to f e e l His presence, to taste His nourishing kindness and love, to drink from His fountain of spiritual flowing waters and to ‘see’ Him with the eyes of my mind. Yes, indeed, this is all very real – more real than anything in the material world. And now, years later, I look back with some humor on myself and the things that so bothered me, the fear of things that never happened, the upset of life not going the way I wanted it to and the confusion of things that are now so clearly apparent. Immediate communion with my Father has become a way of life. The experiences with my now communicating soul are proof that all of this we have been taught from Jesus in Part 4 of The Urantia Book and our Celestial Teachings [still ongoing] are absolutely true and real. We ARE spiritualizing. We are on our way!
God politely steps back and respectfully holds the door open for you to choose to walk through.

Our original source and center of all things, our eternal God dwells in His central universe of Havona [heaven]. Just as we all know that angels exist, we also know that the angels are not God. Angels are the spiritual children of God. In this, we ascertain that God can differentiate Himself into His created beings of vast and multitudinous orders. Powerfully and mysteriously we also know that God has partitioned Himself into individual fragments of Himself which live inside our minds. God is Personal in relation to us as our closest friend. One day we will become one with Him [FUSION], and eventually we will travel to see Him, face-to-face, as it were, on His Isle of Paradise. In this way God brings us home to Him. We understand that God is in Paradise but He is also everywhere – and within us.
196:3.34 The great challenge to modern man is to achieve better communication with the divine Monitor that dwells within the human mind. Man’s greatest adventure in the flesh consists in the well-balanced and sane effort to advance the borders of self-consciousness out through the dim realms of embryonic soul-consciousness in a wholehearted effort to reach the borderland of spirit-consciousness — contact with the divine presence. Such an experience constitutes God-consciousness, an experience mightily confirmative of the pre-existent truth of the religious experience of knowing God. Such spirit-consciousness is the equivalent of the knowledge of the actuality of sonship with God. Otherwise, the assurance of sonship is the experience of faith.
God will bring us home!
